Maybe the non announcement of Phillips or Dear is to keep the doggies guessing as long as possible

It looks like unpredictability is the only weapon now
The non announcement was to allow the hawks to celebrate Changa and the indigenous guernsey reveal

You don't want to water this down having a debut announcement on the same day

Listing to Mitch press, doesn’t sound all that great with Lewis. Could be a bit off
There's obviously more going on with that knee and you'd assume that with the season 1/4 of the way through they're just waiting to see if it settles down by de-loading his training. The next step could very well end up being shutting down for the season if that doesn't work and I guess that could mean any number of things (ie surgery etc).

So long as we arent playing key defenders up forward because the cupboard is bare. Serves no purpose, especially when you’re already 7 goals down. I would rather lose by 100 points every week than see Sicily or Scrimshaw up forward at this stage of our development.

Surely Ramsden and Dear start in the forward 50, not as subs.

I think we all feel that Hustwaite has AFL qualities and needs exposure however, at the same time he is only averaging 20 odd disposals at Box Hill as a full-time mid - at the level you would like to see that number closer to 30 - that's where when McKenzie and Ward are at when they go back there

I would like to see him get more of the pill at VFL level too. But generally there are less touches shared around in VFL games, compared to AFL. He would be a quality over quantity kind of midfielder at every level.

I think the biggest issue for Hustwaite is that he's slow and is exposed defensively. He can tackle really well, so it's not from a lack of trying, but he is not really mobile enough around contests. I think those issues will persist with him.

Yes, slow like Pendlebury

Mitchell was slow as well. It’s not that a player can’t make it if they are slow. It’s that they need to be an incredibly good ball winner at the contest to make up for being slow around the ground.

Hustwaite uses the ball really well but doesn’t win enough of it and gets exposed defensively. His leg speed means he will always be exposed defensively which means he needs to really up his ball winning at the contest. If he’s getting it 25-30 times a game the opposition doesn’t have it.

It's getting pretty worrisome TBH. He's our most important player, missed at least 7 games every single season of his career, was clearly hampered at the beginning of this year and perhaps worst of all, his injuries seem to be really innocuous rather than big, obvious events where you might expect injury to occur. The knee troubles seem really persistent in particular and are resurfacing even when he injures something else (in this case, his hamstring).

Not planing to come over to Waverley, but suddenly I urged myself and I came in there very late.

Seamus walking to the rehab tent, already mentioned by MatteeG that there are possible concerns.

Easy while walking upstairs told me that he's not playing.
I told him I expected him to play with Serong out.
I can feel the disappointment in his voice.

Massa moving well, stayed until the end.

When I asked Chol about the strap on his arm, he said it's fine.
