We're a rough chance if we handle the ball cleanly out of the centre, has killed us the last few weeks.

He doesn't have any.

Unpopular opinion, and he hasn’t demonstrated that he’s close but the seven defenders I would pick this weekend are Pidge, McGrath, Redman, Kelly, BZT, Baldwin and McBride. 3 proper talls and aerial support from Redman and Kelly.

It’s stick or twist time, I’d rather see Hipwood kick 5 on McBride and be confident that he’s not at the level than get to the end of the year having invested 4 years, not had a look and then cutting him loose because we have to.

McBride isn't VFL level as a defender.

I’d rather get flogged doing the right thing for the list than scratch and claw at short term solutions.

At the very least Baldwin simply has to play. If not this then maybe a Bryan/Draper tag team where Bryan drifts back in support.

Let’s have a look at something that has some potential long term play.

Steven May 193cm - 101kg
Kane Baldwin 193cm - 95kg.
Okay May has a zillion lengths more experience and 6kg but 193cm blokes can play on 200cm blokes.
Give Baldwin a go. Development wise he is the bloke we need to see right now. If he makes it down the track he will be playing on 200cm player.

But can they play on Kyle Langford with any effect ;)

I agree on Baldwin but McBride seems a hell of a long way off for mine. 4 years investment does seem like a bit of a waste but we're in every game up to our necks these days so I'd like to give us the best shot of a win

If we are serious about learning about the list and not finding some sort of knee jerk solution to maybe win a game then we are playing Baldwin . He is the next in line we need to know about. Out of contract at EOS . Has played on the resting rucks in the VFL. Time to see what we have at the next level while we have a spot. On VFL form he is the best qualified to come in.

This is what I would prefer.

Question for you though. Before Wright got injured, where do you think Scott was hoping to play Langford all year? I still have a sick feeling he will play in defense this game :(
