Yep I’m in the same boat too. Really want to pick him but just concerned about the rest. And maybe why I go for Dusty instead of him. But I’d love to pick Zorko with confidence
I’ve got Simpson/Close on bench in mids so could field one of them if Zorko missed I guess. I like Dusty too, but would need to burn all 3 trades on Wednesday to get him in and run the gauntlet for the rest of the round which I’m not keen on

Good trades or not?

Trying to rectify my dumpster fire of a Midfield (Danger, Adams, Titch, Yeo, Brouch + Rookies), where I'm looking to offload Brouch (injury) / Yeo (essentially gone for 2 games). I plan to get Duncan the following week (waiting for the $$ drop), but can you gents/ladies please rank the following:
  • Zorko
  • Cogs
  • Any other decent mid (~700K)

A lot of the prem mids are out of my price range (i.e. Neale, Oliver, Macrae).

Any help would be much appreciated.

In my uneducated opinion, I'd rank them as Cogs > Swallow > Zorko. Dusty is a wildcard, cos he's been out of form but could go bang anytime (or maybe last week's 90 is the sign he's turned the corner).

Fingers crossed Yeo gets that suspension overturned today. They'll probably challenge it.

Really like Zorko at his price point, he’s a gun and a potential top 8 mid from this point on, however with his injury issues surely he gets a rest with all these 4-5 day breaks coming up?

Yeh I like him for fantasy where trades are chips anyway. Even if he's out later you can move him on.
But that said I don't think I'll find a way to get him this week.

Have $490k in the bank and I think Gaff and Witts are prefect pickups with the fixture coming and after sliding from 3000th to 4200th I need to improve my team.

Gaff has an average on 92 so perfect for his bye.

Bennell > Close (keep Buderick as he is a guaranteed warm body!)
Andersen > Gaff
Pitt > Witts

Leaves me with $119k for next week.
Sucks to trade out Andersen but it's the only way I can get Gaff and Witts plus I have Stephens, Simpson, Close and Buderick as mid rooks, who are all getting games

Did consider Swallow/Dusty, but my Fwd line is oomplete (GW, Whit, Pet, B.Smith, Wingard and Simpkin). While I would love to upgrade Wingard, completing my midfield requires my immediate concern.

I'm leaning toward Cogs, as my midfield looks much stronger with him in it. Given how Yeo has been (under)performing, trading him out to Zorko, Brodie Smith (helps with my other horrible defence) seems very very apealing.

Green -> Close
Brander -> Ling Ling
Corr -> Lloyd

Got Whitfield in initially, went to re-order my forward line and noticed Pet Raccoon, Greenwood and Whit are all $756. Was at the expense of Anderson though, so I think Corr to Lloyd is the better go.

So tempted to rage trade English to Gawn, but I think it's a better choice to hold the prick for now.

Any other Maynard owners thinking of offloading him? Hasn't looked as good last few weeks and has a high breakeven, but goes up against Freo this week who have been leaking points to defenders

Am I missing something with Dusty? The guy has been cr@p all season
It's a name but I agree. He's priced really nicely but we've already seen Tigers err on the side of caution and rest him once - why wouldn't they do it again in a condensed fixture? Isn't Cotchin back this week as well?

Horrible weekend for me, 900 to 2100 in rankings. Finished on 1552 had Doch, Simpkin, Doedee, C.Taylor, Danger, Cripps all under perform.
First year of Fantasy for me, and now the first player to enter my never again list is Cripps! (I will not miss you)

Really falling behind now, need some sort of miracle from here... for that reason Doch is out.

Currently looking at this:

Traded in Doedee weekend just gone - hindsight I should've just gotten in Will Day and used cash elsewhere but yeah well fantasy... Even if he plays against Norf, chances he niggles it again are probably high.

Dochs out for me is worrying of course, but with a BE of 110 against Hawks stinks, and then his bye round with only an average of probably 79 also stinks. Play the BE game and look at picking him up again at round 12 against Freo at hopefully 50k less.

Matt Kennedy anyone? Playing pure mid, cheap, someone posted $/points and he's right up there, bye next week and would take a 65 from someone his price. Judging by Cal's scale of hardness he has a nice mid run too. Am I crazy in chasing these midpricers and getting caught up in the avg hype?

Another post,

Is anyone considering trading a cavarra type who has lots of games first up to someone from gold coast so we can loophole deeper into the round?

I'm actually seriously considering moving Mitchell on for him. In the event he has a good game on the weekend he might get his average up to 70ish. In which case trading to Mitchell gets me 200+k and Mitchell's average is 76 at the moment. Both teams have a bye next week and not much of a difference considering we get their average for the bye. So for potentially a 6-10pt difference I get 200k to spend elsewhere. Not horrible.
