I have done the 5:2 diet a fair few times in the past and always lost 4kgs but always aim for 8-7kgs.

I need to cut back on soft drinks, that is always my starting point for weight loss

Fast for 2 days but eat only 500 calories on those days. Then eat whatever other 5 days but still try and eat healthier foods.
Ive become a bit of a peppermint pattie since Lockdown started so I might give it a go

16:8 is another one that is popular - eat normally - but all meals in an 8 hr window, then just water for the rest of the day.

Breakie at 9, dinner at 5.

I try to not go to those extremes, but make small adjustments to healthy eating and small increases in exercise over a long period

It’s not hard to do if you sleep in and miss breakfast 😅 brunch at 1 and dinner at 8

That's my biggest addiction that always gives me grief.

it’s interesting in Northern Europe, they tend to have larger lunches and smaller dinners, so it might be loosely based on that...

Larger lunches were the thing pre-industrial revolution. Worked well with an agricultural lifestyle. Was only after people started working 10-12 hours in a factory that dinner was served at tea time.
 
I actually eat well, dont smoke, don’t drink soft drinks unless its the occasional mixer, I’m not even a coffee drinker I’m a tea drinker.
But I dunno why I tried a dare iced coffee last year and it hooked me in, now I have several triple ones a day. That’s not good hey?
Who’s a coffee drinker here, how many cups a day is normal and yeah I know it’s the sugar in the dare thats the bad bad bit.
But can you get a caffeine addiction?

Yes you can… caffeine withdrawal headaches are also a thing 😛

I don’t drink hot coffee, I only have it in the house for guests. Or a latte if we go out for brunch etc.
