I thought we'd do posting stats before match stats this week. Mostly because I had already posted and formatted the table before I realised what I was doing.

Anyway, activity was good again. 15 active posters and 384 posts of pure golden honey in a pretty fun thread with the Wonders. Well done team.

This was a great result against the high-flying non-losing Wonders. Pure Grunt lead the way with 29 disposals, fed largely by the legendary tap work of The Roys plumber-in-chief DERRINALPHIL (16 hitouts, 23 disposals and a goal). tigs2010 and JackNah_8 ran the midfield ragged with 25 and 21 disposals respectively, while Zevon put on another tackling masterclass (7) and goals rained down from Mooch (6.4), Barrels (2.3) and a couple of ridiculous long bombs from windyhill late on.

Our ladder position belies some of the individual performances so far this season. DERRINALPHIL's rucking has him top 5 in the league for hitouts, JackNah_8, tigs2010, 3KZ is Football top 10 in disposals, Mooch is leading the goal kicking, and tigs2010 is almost an almost untouchable Dream Team legend, leading daylight in second place. fitzroybowiedog is top 5 in the league in tackles. Lovely stuff.

This win takes us up to 4th on the ladder. Next week we're on the road again, this time off to the Underground Stadium to play the cellar dwellers - the Swampies. Always a game to look forward to and, if I'm not mistaken, the Fatty Lumpkin Cup will be up for grabs. Let's keep dancing!

Well. That wasn't fun. Not a lot worked for us onfield in this one. With the exception of DERRINALPHIL (14 hitouts, 17 touches and a goal) and windyhill (3.0 goals). Roylion, Zevon and Pure Grunt got plenty of the ball but the forwards mainly butchered it - Mooch, Barrels, and Pure Grunt combined for 1.10 on the scoreboard.

tigs2010 continues to lead the Roys charge on the league stats, with Pure Grunt and DERRINALPHIL chasing. JackNah_8 's high possession game gets her a seat near the top of the stats and Zevon is polling well in the tackle count. Playing on while carrying an injury has slowed 3KZ is Football 's dream team charge but he looks to be on the mend now.

We're in danger of slipping out of the 8 already. Surely we can get a win at home next week against the lowly Demons?

So there was a thing. Some stuff happened, some tea was drunk. Some semblance of a game broke out, or so I'm told. It's yet to be confirmed. All we know is that without JackNah_8 's 20 disposals and a goal, tigs2010 's 21 disposals and a goal, and DERRINALPHIL 's 9 hitouts and 20 disposals, we would probably have lost. As it turned out, we ...... checks notes ..... lost. Right.

On field we might have had a shocker but at least we're doing alright in the posting stakes. 17 active posters - the most since round 1 - and some quality in the game thread.

This week, the great and powerful Roylion plays his 400th game for the club. Normally I forget these things, like I did with Mobbs 500th a few weeks back - but as I am actually aware of this one - he deserves some love on such a significant milestone...



This will be his 430th game, with by far the most of this in his beloved Maroon and 'Rilla.




Some history on the great man. Roylion was essentially the founder of the Roys FFC. Roylion was the first to suggest the name of the team be the Roys FC and even referenced "Roi" as the french derivative, which is now the name of our reserves side.

Roylion was our inaugural captain, best and fairest winner and leading goal kicker. He has been twice captain, twice leading goal kicker, as well as a Life Member of the Roys FFC.

He is ruoured to occasionally post on the Sweet FA board - but I personally think that's just an urban legend....

He is defender of all that is holy with regards to Fitzroy on the main board and much loved on the Fitzroy board as well.

So - in honour of his 400th game for the Roys, please tag the shit out of him and see if he responds !!!

This was the Roys doing Roy things. Kicking a big bag of goals against the Bombers. And missing plenty too but let's not dwell on that. WE WON!! Phar Ace, Zevon and 3KZ is Football had the ball on a string in the middle. The Bombers couldn't get it off them. And even when they did, tacking machines tigs2010 and fitzroybowiedog dived in to tackle and win it back. Sticky hands Aristotle Pickett (just don't ask him how they got that way) was phenomenal in the air, snagging 13 marks, while _Mike_, windyhill, 3KZ is Football and Mooch kicked 10 behinds. But that doesn't matter because Barrels, Elmer_Judd and Mooch kicked 10 goals to wrap up the game.
