I see Sier and Wills as very different players. They are both tall strong bodied mids, however, that is where the similarities end.

Wills is like a larger Greenwood. His intensity and appetite for the contest is enormous. I LOVE what he is bringing right now.

Sier is a better creator (by hand) but he has never had the sort of game that Wills is bringing right now.

If Sier actually realizes his potential I think there is room for both of them when some of our older guns retire.

Earlier in the year, Didn’t think this kid had a future with us. Never said it out loud, but im Happy to sit here an eat my words (or thoughts). I was wrong, he has a role to play, and i would assume has played himself into a spot round 1 of finals.

His tackles... god damn. He doesn’t settle for any regular tackles. He tackles to hurt.

It's his Kiwi/Rugby background.
He picked up a basketball one time; that’s what done it.

By the way:
Did you know Pendlebury had a basketball background?

It was obvious within only a couple of minutes of the start of the Gold Coast game that he and Adams provide a better balance to the side.

Treloar has had a monster year as an inside mid, but he is so dangerous when released to run on the outside as well with his burst speed.

Adams and Wills are having those downstream benefits all over the field.

What I noticed about Wills is that often when he gets tackled his hands are still free to hand ball, even when he is being tackled by more than one player. I thought tactically that could be something we could utilise.

i did a comparison on the afl stats site between sier and wills... for this year only and sier hasnt been as good. but wills does a lot more tackling and makes fewer turnovers. Other stats differences arent that great.

I’d take Wills because he can play more than 50% of the game.

Sier is a better attacking player, Wills a better defender. Sier attacks a contest at pace, has the zip to break away from congestion, has lovely vision on his handpasses and is a decent kick. Wills is also shows nice vision on his bandpasses but is less of an offensive weapon as he is slow and his kicking is only ok. But defensively, his tackling, his scrapping, his ability to be at the bottom of every pack is extraordinary.

Rude awakening for him about the speed of the game for the teams that rebound with real explosiveness. Probably didn’t look as comfortable as he did against slower sides that we have faced in recent weeks. Still asserted himself physically, especially in the second half, but didn’t impact as strongly as he has over the past month. Intrigued to see how they view him at the selection table

He’s an interesting case study, gets exposed at times when the game flow is quick, thou very useful when we need to ascert control in the clinches and when the game bottles up.
Also frees up other players
He’s a useful list player when the occasion is right

I have been impressed with him until now,but I thought he got exposed tonight. He definitely lacks a bit of pace and gets exposed when the other team moves the ball quickly.Maybe Sier would be the better option, but he needs to get his act together quickly.

love his courage to go and dive on the ball and dog fight.... Pies need players like that to counter the hard-inside players from Eagles etc. But wish he was a bit quicker.

Seemed decent in the third quarter to the point where I was inclined to check his stats, for which he only had 12 touches at the time. Suspect he may come out which is unlucky. I'd probably consider giving him a year unless he can get an offer elsewhere.

16 touches with no impact for the amount of time he spends on ball isn’t good enough at this level.

He fumbled everything today—-he’s just not an clean one grab player.

His lack of any pace is also an worry to either spread or defend.
