On the Greg Lynn committal proceedings Crown Prosecutor Mr Dickie said 'It is clear hopefully from the document, and if it's not clear from the document it's clear hopefully from the charges put before the court, that it is alleged of course that the accused acted with murderous intent when he allegedly killed the two victims.'

Maybe Hill set up something to claim the "spot" a few days before and perp chucked it aside and set up camp.

TBH, pet hate in the bush where peeps claim spot as their own!

Yeah a possibility as there is one good spot that backs onto the river and Hill wasn't on it and the Police said on Sixty Minutes that was because someone else would have been on it. It'll be the drone or a camping spot/noise issue I'm sure

So in summary, here’s what is known so far of Greg ‘Baldrick’ Lynn’s perfect murder:
  • He spontaneously kills two people.
  • He torches their tent (presumably to cover his tracks).
  • Despite being surrounded by many kilometres of very dense bush, he tries driving several hours north to dispose of the bodies, but gets forced into a 20 point turn which is witnessed by others because the road is closed.
  • He then drives straight past a CCTV camera at midnight several hours east.
  • He (presumably) drops them in a shaft at a known tourist campground.
  • He paints his car when the police already have a record of what colour his car was.
  • He then sells his trailer on Gumtree.

I've read articles in the past where people are boasting about threats to shoot down; or have actually shot down offending nuisance drones ....

So if Russel had his drone shot down by a hail of bullets ... that may have caused him to snap and to come out swig'n??

I have not been on the forum for the last day; so am not on top of all the latest speculations and accusations.... but I've also seen some of the new chatter regarding the DRONE ...

On the 11th November; I raised the thought about the drone being the possible motive/catalyst ... (see re-quote above)... for the alleged double homicide....

So now finally the drone does look like it's firming up as the odds on favourite motive .... hmmm..

Greg, please hand your phone in to the officer in charge. You know full well you are not meant to have it.

It's all very bizarre. I'd say he wasn't thinking clearly at any stage, so wasn't capable of coldly planning each step. Perhaps the method of killing them would have made him easily identifiable so he had to move them and get rid of the evidence, which I think might have involved the tent and its contents.

As for the CCTV, it would be the last thing he would be looking out for at midnight, he's just heading for somewhere as far away as possible. He's thought of somewhere he can dump the bodies and in the dark has to concentrate on unlit roads. It's not till he gets home that he might think of possible cameras, hence getting rid of the trailer and painting the car.

Some of you may also recall me mentioning "my inside man" (whimsicaly paraphrasing here) .... (being my mate who is a commercial airline Check Captain on another Australian airline ...

Well the latest from this inside industry source is this...

(btw - Haven't been on the forum for a day - so this may already be old news haha)...

- The mysterious death of the perp's first wife was from drug and alcohol abuse...
- But the strange thing about that is; before her death she was widely known as someone who never did drugs etc ....
- Pilots hate drones.... They worry greatly about them; and have to endure idiots illegally buzzing the airports and their work places with them...
- Maybe the perp had a terrifying close encounter with a drone at work.... whilst he was flying his 737 etc.. so was super wound up about it...

My 2 cents worth ...
- Whilst camping; perhaps the perp snapped..
because Russell was strafing he perp's campsite with his new toy, (expensive drone) ...

Yeah who would know about a CCTV camera in the middle of nowhere? Yeah don't believe this was premeditated it was an argument and heat of the moment thing. No reports of gunshots heard on the day yet someone heard him leaving in the middle of the night? Yeah the attempt to stage the campsite was a failure but if the drone was the cause of the incident that's why it hasn't been found, it may have recorded something and Lynn wanted it gone as was Hill's mobile phone. The drone and phone could be with the remains?

Maybe ran over them while they were in the tent, or next to it, kind of a road rage thing brought on by an argument over the drone?

Yes that's 100% on the money and the same was mentioned within the aviation forums by the Pilots who had flown with Lynn. No nice words said about the man. Quote "Not right in the head" and "Agro individual who played the nice guy" - 'Was dismissed at Qantas for behaviour issues" etc etc. Yes a hate for Drones is on the money...

I’m sure that’s right, but if you drive far enough anywhere you’ll eventually hit some CCTV. Perhaps some crooks are still a bit naive about just how much there is out there. It’s most likely what’s brought him undone.

In hindsight, he could have just driven say 15-20km and dug a hole and in all likelihood they’d not have been found, and he wouldn’t have been such a prominent suspect.

Plus it is reported he took off camping following an argument with his wife, so already triggered?

True, but obviously was not thinking clearly, probably panicking.

Yeah they were onto him listening in on his phone calls. The Sixty Minutes show where Police revealed they were looking for a blue Patrol (When they were already onto him and knew it was now beige) was all about triggering him to reveal more. They apprehended him because they feared he might be unstable or harm himself etc. I wonder if they were able to go back and get pings from his phone and or Hill's phone despite there being no reception everywhere? Pings could have led them to the sight they are scouring ATM if Lynn did not reveal the general area he put them?

The porta loo was never used so I don’t think they were sleeping

I can't believe I'm asking this but: do people use portaloos for wee & poo?

People that have caravans with toilets complain about having to empty the toilet. It's a gross job apparently.

So they tend to use public facilities where possible or wee behind a bush and only use the van toilet for emergency number 2.

I wonder if it's possible that Hill & Clay were asleep but did their night wee behind a bush.

Was there any sort of evidence, Such as DNA found at the camp that’s been released?

Not that I know of yet Froggy.

I'm fascinated atm with the paint job on one side of the new caravan in his driveway, he's gone for the camouflage look which is giving me sniper vibes.

It looks nice and tidy and a courtesy for Carol likely but I wouldn't have used it.

Caravan.? Didn't know he had one. Thought he was a tent man.! LOL

Messy way to kill two people though, isn't it -- driving into/over them? And as people have commented earlier in the thread, there was a tree and also Hill's vehicle to contend with if that's how it happened. No guarantee of killing them either. Which means he would have been left with two injured people who would have to be dispensed with as they lay writhing and groaning. What if someone else had driven up and seen that? As well, police dogs would surely have picked up on skin and blood over a fairly big area which lay outside the burn pattern. Then the question of how he finished them off. Gun? Knife? And what if they fought him off. If they only had a broken leg or arm and knew they were fighting for their lives, they wouldn't have been playing around. If Hill had a knife, which is a real possibility as a bushman camper, he could have done some real damage, it could have become a real bloodbath with no guarantee the perp would walk away

No I suspect a gun was used. He had a considerable gun collection and was a shooter at the Port Melb (Melbourne Shooting Club)

Yes, I'd read he was a shooter and don't doubt he could have had a gun. Thing is, someone above said people saw him conducting his multiple-point turn, yet I haven't read that anyone reported hearing gunshots or seeing the fire
