If you doubt ASADA's desire to see ALL infringements penalised to the maximum extent (2 years) then check out their current list of sanctioned sportspeople.

Thanks for sharing that #youmewe, that is a real eye opener. I had only seen the list of Stephen Koops, Justin Charles, Ahmet Saad etc and had felt maybe there was a glimmer of hope Crowls might get a lesser sanction. Looks like Saad is possibly the only one relevant to the current climate as it seems the days of mitigating circumstances are gone.

Whatever the result I hope it is delivered quickly and accepted without a drwn out appeal process.

I want to remember Crowls for the legend he is, not for a long and protracted court battle played out in the media - ala Essendon.

Fake tough guy?
Who have you been watching play?

It might be construed at times as boyish overexuberance but I don't think there's anything fake or put on about it.
I think what he's getting at, is Suban is a hot head, and constantly gets in scuffles. Then realizes he's bitten off more than he can chew and try's to get out of it. Ala Travis Varcoe last year who took him apart in a wrestle.

Heard yesterday that Ryan has some scaly mates and was visiting one of them whilst his back was sore and got a tablet or two off his mate. Was tested 5 weeks later and was positive. Yikes!

"Tablet or two" and testing +ve 5 weeks later, that's some serious pain-killer then!!!

Not sure if it's wise to assume that were talking narcotics here, as Prednisolone (steroid) is commonly used by Dr's for acute low back pain.

Let the facts emerge....

Remember it is a specified substance, so only game day issues, and not a prohibited substance. No danger a PED was used. Even the media over here aren't silly enough to infer that.
People will believe the Freo doctor ;)
What they read and what was intended aren't always the same thing.

I like how even when we have a rather significant "scandal" it was so quickly eclipsed in the headlines by West Coast shenanigans, we really don't hold a candle to them when it comes to controversy.

It's almost like they were jealous of attention Ryan was getting and decided that they needed to up the ante. This is one thing I do not mind them winning.

I'm amazed at West Coast fans persisting with the false comparisons, citing Johnson or Crowley (or the injunctions or Stokes) as if these mean anything.

They've had one former player go to an early grave, and another few from the club on their way to the same or prison. And their number one concern is whether other clubs have had problems.

They really are a bunch of complete bell ends. No wonder all their players went off the rails, given they were surrounded by sycophants.

The Essendon saga pales into insignificance when compared to what went on at West Coast. The damage done to so many young men from that era is an on going disgrace and how those who were in charge then are still there is mind boggling.

I'm not certain it pales into insignificance but certainanly as bad, it is such a shame sport gets lowered to these levels.

No way, the Essendon thing was a level above. Incompetent boob of a coach bringing in charlatans to ineffectively cheat.

How badly has our club's reputation been hurt by this? The Eagles fans have been unbearable, they think it falls into the same category as Ben Druggin's drug use.

The damage done to young lives by the West Coasts inaction in the pursuit of a flag surpasses Essendons failed, laughable attempt at cheating.

I think you're down playing what happened at WC to make your point. It wasn't just damage to young lives, they also knowingly and blatantly cheated and reaped the benefits of a flag for it! We're now seeing what we've all known from the start that ice improves performance - greatly!

Agree that Essendon did take it to another level though and they admitted as much. They were motivated by what WC were getting away with and sort to find a way that they could compete.

I don't think what West Coast were doing in the mid 2000s was deliberate cheating. It was simply a party culture gone very bad and the club ignored it.

When Matt Barber was there though, well, the jury's out.
