Just having a bit of writers block at the moment so no story right now but I'm working on it.

The Hawks have been fairly lackluster in this thread. You'd think IMS would have gotten sick of carrying them by now but he still goes hard.

The Royals might not have beaten the Hawks but I've done it plenty of times. I consider them to be one of the teams I'm best against. I'll be looking to kick at least 4 goals, 8 if the weather is good.

I don't think I saw that one. Unfortunately Richmond and Port aren't my favourite teams. In any case the AFL is an inferior league which I barely follow these days. The SFA is where it's at.

At the other end of the rainbow I land in a field. Lots of green grass, colourful flowers, a stream rolling by and a bunch of my new Royals team mates.

"Ah Juggs, we've been waiting for you" says The_Reaper. "I will be your judge, jury and executioner". There are a few gasps. "lol, nobody is getting their head chopped off, we'll maybe" his scythe seems ominous at this moment. "Welcome to SLASH19, everybody. We will be splitting up into teams. An experienced player will be your team captain and 2 noobs will join them. Our first team captain is timtamWB and our second is reigning SLASH18 champion Wise Guy Sam. Juggs and bgt2110 you're with timtam and Blacky and Speck you're with WGS. Each team has been given a list which must be completed by game time on Sunday. Any questions?" "What do we win?" asks Blacky. "Prizes are only unveiled after the competition" Reaper replies with a sly smile. "Your time starts now!!".

We all sort of stand around for a minute reading our lists. I'm wondering what to get first. I ask timtam "Where do we get a gingerbread man?" he replies in the form of a song.



"Ok I guess we're off to Drury Lane. How shall we get there?" I wonder. "Don't worry, it's just a short walk over that way" timtam points in the direction of team WGS. We immediately start running to catch up, they've obviously got the same idea as us and we've gotta get that gingerbread man first. We come across a small path with a sign post clearly marked as Drury lane and follow the other team down to a small cottage. They are already at the door knocking when we spot something shaped like a small man making a dash out the window. He jumps over the fence and he is off down the path he seems to be rhyming "Run, run as fast as you can, can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man". So there we are 6 of us taking off after this small animated snack. It isn't long before he gives us the slip and we're all left gasping for breath. "Who knew he was so fast?, I guess this hunt is going to be harder than I thought."

Everybody reaches the main golden road and the teams decide to head our separate ways as not to get in each others way. "So what next?" asks bgt2110. "Why don't you pick one mate" I reply. "Make it something difficult". "Ok how about this one? An autograph from Elvis, gonna be a bit difficult seeing as he's dead". "Nah he's not dead" says timtam very matter of factly, "he just went to Gold City, he's a good friend of Igloo. Finding him might be difficult though, he's a bit of a recluse". "So we ask Igloo then?" I ask. "Well we gotta find him too". Just at that moment I hear a *clop clop* of some familiar unicorns and there is Igloo riding shotgun on a Gold City carriage. "Good day sir" I greet him dipping my splendid hat to him. "Is it possible you could take us to see Elvis?". He jumps down pointing his shotgun in my chest. "Who told you about Elvis?, that's supposed to be a secret". I gulp looking at timtam, Igloo then swings around pointing the shotgun at him. "Well what's this about then?". He then shows the list and Igloo puts down the weapon. "The Scavenger hunt? Well why didn't you say so? Hop in the carriage and I'll take you to him". We jump in and towards the city we go.

Winning is far from an assurance or a constant in Qooty, and as mere mortal beings in this random realm of Qooty, we are destined to lose every now and again. To deny that, is to truly live in a fantasy land. One has to learn how to find joy in defeat, because like death out there in the real world, losing in the is the only inevitably in the Sweet FA. Morbid, but true.

I also find it amusing as well, reading the other match threads around the league, just precisely how little we actually care about our opponent's simulated fortune. Effectively, we only have one real winner each season - the premiers - and even they're subject to having their accomplishment belittled and denied. It is as if with each new passing of the Sweet FA calendar year, a new slate is drawn, and all past results are rendered null and void. At this point in the season, it strikes me nobody is truly a winner, while everybody is truly a loser, because premierships, being the only universally shared aspiration (re: delusion), are not won in week 2, yet everyone has a claim to it. That makes me smile.

He's the best forward pocket in the comp, even included himself there in the All-SFA side to stroke his ego. Most captains didn't even select him in their final teams... surprising that.
