I’ve never been prouder of you

I feel like this is a backhanded compliment.

The Wonders could lose 10 players and we’d be fine. We would just recruit, like every club has ever done when players have left them at the end of the season.

Sure quality would drop but so what? The SFA suddenly a popularity contest? No thanks, I’d rather retire and burn this club to the ground before I ever give in to these demands that every club be perfect.

I get it, it’s banter, it’s fun to take pot shots. I’m as guilty as sin for doing this in my career. But when a point so false becomes so long, it speaks more about those pointing fingers.

Wonders will be fine next season, every club will be fine.

The league is so strong now that it will never let a team fold, as much as we can hate particular clubs, when it’s all weighed up, we want the community to be involved as best as possible - and if you didn’t want that then you wouldn’t be attacking those that are inactive.

The Wonders might be losing 3 of it’s best posters but not one of them is done so with a grudge. They’ve all committed to the cause and we have plans in place so we can freshen things up for next season. A new captain, a new leadership group and possibly a look at new logos and jumpers, who knows.

I’ve been through plenty of these in my time. I’ve been scared a few times, I’ll admit, but this time, I’m pretty chill about it. It’s nothing new.
