The Swamprats
Within the SFA, the Alberton Qootball Club, a.k.a., the Sin City Swamprats, is not known as a flashy organization; preferring internal bonding and posting quality over external exposure and amount of posts. However, there is nothing wrong in a Rat being a very active poster and/or openly promoting himself and the club.
Moreover, the Swamprats are not a club for crying one’s own misery, but for overcoming it with the aid of fellow wretched souls. There is no judgment on anyone’s past. This is the club of perpetual renewal; the place for new beginnings. Here, it is always possible to start over. The doors are always open to everyone.
This season, it’s the club who is starting over. At least, it feels somewhat like it. If the doors are open to come in; they are also open to get out. It’s part of the risk. After S31, the Rats have experienced an exodus. We knew it was coming. We had fought hard to avoid it after S30. Now, we couldn’t simply roll over and quit.
So, we went to work. A couple of names reverted their decision to leave and stayed with us for another season. We know it’s for one season only. It doesn't matter. We will enjoy their company while it lasts. Moreover, some new players have joined us. In the end, even though many have departed, we have a full squad and more. We are ready to go.
Last season, the Sim decided we wouldn’t win at home. This season, the SFA rewarded us with 10 home games in 16 rounds. We noticed it. [Then, the league changed our fixture to 8 home games; still...] We expect the results to be quite different, though. The Underground won't be an welcoming place in S32.
Watch out, Sweet! The Rats are coming and hungrier than ever…
