I always thought we rebranded from Alberton to Sin City and created a new stadium as we burnt Alberton down.
Not sure GremioPower has his hands all over thisThat was the impression I was under, too. So is Alberton Qooty Club a symbolic gesture to the past or has it been rebuilt?

Just like the Footscray Football Club is the Western Bulldogs.I don’t get how we can be the Alberton qootball club and the sin city Swamprats??
But their website and logo both currently refer to western bulldogs.Just like the Footscray Football Club is the Western Bulldogs.
It’s an option to give emphasis to their current brand, but they are still the Footscray FC.But their website and logo both currently refer to western bulldogs.
I don't know what Sin City refers to. Swamprats Into New digs?I am gonna tag map-crafter and all around Sweet FA geography nerd Mobbs to see what he knows of the link between Alberton and Sin City.
It refers to the benchmark of Season 32So what does Sin City refer to? A suburb/region of Alberton? A nickname for the town?

Alberton is on the coast to the east next to Alberton Swamp. Just north of Abu Ghraib and just south of the River Sweet which splits Sweet into northside and southside. Attenboro lies to the west of most of Alberton, Docklands to the South-west and Sweet CBD to the North-west. Major thoroughfares in Alberton include Alberton Road, Sandola Avenue, Magpie Road (named after Alberton_Magpie ). The Alberton Hotel, a low-lying brick structure, is the first licenced premises to be built in the Sweet Municipality. The Last Port of Call is still available as a backup in case you get booted from the Alberton pub.
The following is an aerial view of Alberton suburb, with Alberton Oval on the right-hand edge. The suburb extends from the foreground back to where the high-rise offices introduce the CBD beyond.

Underground Stadium lies in Nou Camp suburb further west, in the basement of the Los Carraras Shopping Complex. The Las Vegas Bears' Stadium in the Sky is situated on the roof of the same complex.
It has many meanings.So what does Sin City refer to? A suburb/region of Alberton? A nickname for the town?
The Swamprats, or simply Rats, was founded in 2004, playing its inaugural season in S4. The club was born in black-and-white and was called the Alberton Swamprats. In its inception, it was the representative of BigFooty’s Port Adelaide board in the SFA. As such, it won a premiership in S6.
The club has folded a couple of times, but has been brought back again. It has played every season since S16, when it became open for barrackers of other teams (there are currently even Crows among us!). Later, it has been rebranded as the Sin City Swamprats and added red and silver its colours. Since then, the club has changed the silver to gold, and added two flags and three minor premierships to its laurels.
It must be said that, in a sense, the Swamprats have never left Alberton. The club has physically moved out, for sure; but, spiritually, the link hasn't been fully broken. It is hidden, but it still there. The old Alberton Swamprats still lives on; only more embracive and sombrer than before.
The rebranding came out of necessity. There was a need to reinforce a detachment from the Port board. At the time, names were suggested, and a vote was taken. “Sin City” won, and that has been the club’s name since S19.
There are many different theories about the origin and meaning of the current name:
- some say it is related to Las Vegas, Nevada;
- others, to Sydney;
- some others, to Frank Miller’s ‘Sin City;’
- and so on.
The fact that there are so many different answers is evidence that the rebranding’s goal was achieved. However, there is a common theme to all of them, which reveals the club’s identity.
The club’s name is not just “Sin City;” but “Sin City Swamprats.” The moniker has been preserved. Considering the club’s full name, combining rats and sins, it points towards the underworld. The Rats even host their homes games at “The Underground.”
Thus, the name implies that the club is about the rejects, the outcasts, the pariahs, the socially unwanted. It presents the club as a home for the homeless; a country for the exile; a sanctuary for the forsaken; a port for the adrift. It stresses darkness, fear, and despair; but also freedom, power, and hope. It entails being bent, but never broken.
The club’s colours add meaning to such a symbolism. Where the shadows prevail, there are practically no colours. It is almost all black-and-white. Almost. The dimness over Sin City reveals strokes of red and gold; invoking both passion and glory. The club may pull its strength from the deepest parts of the soul, but its aim is always at the Highest.
