I sort of get where Kane is coming from though, and i know this will be dismissed on here but what if we win the next two premierships. Highly unlikely i know but will this handshake agreement hold up under those circumstances and would you still want to change under that set of circumstances?

I still personally think the timing would be right for a change even with two flags, and i believe it will happen at the end of this year if we fail in finals again or worse.

But Collingwood won a flag and made a GF in Malthouse final 2 years and it made for a very ugly transition, as Malthouse suddenly changed his tune because they were flying and realized he still wanted to coach. As long as Hinkley is completely fine with walking away at the end of this contract no matter what, then it shouldn't be an issue.

The bit that didn't make much sense is when he went on about what if Chris Scott became available but he was always quick to dismiss Hardwick and Clarkson when they actually were available and hinkley was coming out of contract.
You are right. Immediately dismissed at this line lol.

Pies of 2010 are not a viable comparison. If we ever gonna win a flag it was going to to be either 2020/21 when we had 2 home PFs and the week off. We faced 2 sides away from their home who had to win a SF the week before.

Simply put we're going to waste another two seasons for a handover that we're prepared to take our time with because Carr isn't ready apparently (bulls**t) or that we owe it to Ken (13 years of a $700k+ salary isn't enough?).

Kane, stop embarrassing yourself. "Ken deserves support". "Hinkley fatigue". LOL. How much *ing support does the guy need? Fatigue? I have had the worst case of Hinkley chronic fatigue syndrome since 2016. Geez, pee off forever, both of you.
Lol, just watching this now on the app. "Ken's finally got the support, finally got the players, building the side nicely". 11 years to build a side and we are still in the maybe zone.

The 2021 Prelim was Hinkley’s magnum opus, and he somehow managed to skate by with negligible criticism amidst the dual-Melbourne/Bulldogs fairytale.

A footy club will never again lose by that much despite enjoying every possible advantage as justified red hot favourites in any game, let alone a Preliminary Final.

Our opponents were literally detained in a f#%king hotel and forbidden from circulating in society, anywhere, in the lead-up to the game.

And we’ve still got to hear how this guy is a wonderful coach and we’re so lucky to have him, and the grass isn’t always greener, etc.

It’s like we’re NPC’s in a Stephen King novel.

"Whilst you have a coach, back your coach in."

kane Cornes can't understand Port Adelaide's rumoured succession plan for Ken Hinkley

This to me smells the same old triggers from previous seasons, Ken or someone within the club has pushed the bottom to media connection Kane to make its annual push to keep Hinkley employed

A Bulldogs team that had Zaine Cordy holding down full back.

Meanwhile we're treated to nonsense about holes because the tortured genius didn't have 23 All Australians to pick from.

If either Koch or Ken thought there was a fair chance of a flag in the next 2 seasons, no way would they be talking up a handover to Carr. Maybe Kane wants to stop the handover talk before the media picks up that Kenny is more like an assistant coach these days.

The “handover to Carr” shtick is to try to create the impression that it’s all under control, nothing to see here. But the impression they’ve created is “these plans to hand over is not the talk of a coach who thinks he’s gonna be successful”

For anyone who's seen the Oscar-winning Korean movie Parasite, the two stories are very similar.

A opportunistic family attaches itself like leeches to a better, more successful host organism, eventually conducting a successful infiltration and refusing to leave.

Imagine how much Kane is going to turn on your club when the next coach kicks Chad out.

Kane Cornes would have to be the possible person connected to our club in the media, he is as far from a real Port person as the earth is from the sun.
He makes me sick when he opens his Glenelg mouth, pushing the Hinkley barrow like the little brown nose he is.
Such an embarrassment imo, he stuck around way too long just like his mate donuts Hinkley.

There are 2 reasons why Kane absolutely backs no grand finals Hinkley over someone like 1 flag + another grand final, in 2 less seasons Beveridge.

1) Ken got Kane to 300 games. When he told the club in the 2014/2015 preseason he wanted to join the fire service and the selection intake trials were in May and it was the first intake in 5 or 6 years plus he didn't know when the next ones might be on again, the club should have said see you later or you play out 2015.

The club buckled, made an exception, was worried about any political fall out with his old man's influential media gig, and Kane can now say he is a 300 gamer which sounds a lot better than a 295 gamer. This BS was part of the reason why we went backwards in 2015 after the 2014 PF loss to the Hawks by a kick.

And when he was selected after the trials, he was put on relieving day shift, wasn't put on a specific shift that does 2 days 10 hour shift then 2 nights 14 hour shifts followed by 4 days off, and would always try and piss off about 4pm so he could catch a flight to Melbourne on a Friday for his media gig. When he was told in no uncertain terms to either commit to his MFS job or piss off, he pissed off and later described it as bullying, unlike the big cuddles Kenny gave him.

2) He knows that if a new coach comes in, especially an outsider, his brother will get the arse and he loses his inside info from him and Ken, and probably a couple of others who might also get the boot.
And if we don't win the flag in Carr's first year as coach, you can bet Kane Cornes will be among the first to proclaim proudly, "Why on earth did Port replace Ken Hinkley?"

Unfortunately so.

Ironically he'd be on track for a career just as successful as Hinkley's.

Kane says Port listens to the fans too much, If that were true then Ken would’ve been gone a long time ago, Also by saying that Port is listening to the supporters too much he is admitting that most supporters want Ken gone, when just last year and years prior it was just a loud minority group of supporters calling for Ken’s sacking(well which one is it Kane?). Kane just babbles nonsense for attention and will twist and turn any of his arguments at the drop of a dime to suit his agenda. I can’t take him seriously, He’s just a troll who happens to (somehow) be in the media. Anyway what’s wrong with listening to the supporters? We are the biggest stake holders of the club
