I don't think so. 'Father figure' literally seems their only real option that no-one bothers to or can question. He's old. They can't say he's a great coach as he has never achieved success. His record against top 8/4 teams is appalling and he seems to be a disingenuous, unfunny type of guy. 'Daddy' or the truth.

I will always despise Kornes for taking up a spot in 2015 to get his games record. It was the most selfish thing a player could do. He was not a team player, it was all about him.
Too bloody right it was.
I liked what he did in 2015. It stained his rep with opposition fans and our happy clappers. He was selfish for 10 years before that

Last week Cornes announced this Sunday's clash against Richmond would be his 300th and final game in the AFL after he'd accepted a position with the South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service.
High profile trio Matthew Lloyd, Tony Shaw and Mark Ricciuto branded the 32-year-old selfish for walking away from the game mid-season.
The one person in the AFL media I do like and listen too is Mathew Lloyd.

Its even more incredible though that after doing that he still has the audacity to criticise other players commitment to their team. Had a go at Ollie for his waterskiing accident, and said Jez let his teammates down with the word used on the weekend.
There is quite possibly no player in the history of football that let their teammates down more than Kane did in 2015. Zero commitment and didn't even stick at the fireman role either.
I've never had an issue with him leaving to be a firey but he should have retired at the end of 2014 to pursue it and allow us to fill his list spot to compete in 2015 and train up someone to take his role.
