Eyes verging on tears and voice quivering, he said "mob" about a dozen times.

Not only does he think it's the job of fans to find a replacement, he and Caro believe it's their job to get Ken another job, too.
Keep your eyes out on seek.com for a middle aged sports reporter advertising the exciting, fast paced and high paying role of best friend/snuggle buddy with mandatory requirements of a minimum 11 years experience as an AFL coach and one country league premiership

No - the best possible scenario is that he gets sacked immediately.

If this Club is serious, Ken shouldn't coach another game.
That won’t happen because those in charge wouldn’t want the media heat of sacking a coach while you’re still in the running of finals. Kochie would have to come out and totally contradict his narrative to this point.

I guess in the sense that it was a deserving extension given the ridiculous timeframe that Koch had put on it.

But then we all saw what happened after the extension and it was clear we were going nowhere.

That is the only way his statement makes any sense whatsoever.

Sack Koch. Sack Hinkley.
Sliding doors moment maybe?

hopefully Chad bro tries to be a hero this week but putting his 2 cents into coaching the forward line only to confuse them even more with his hard to understand lisp

Sacking Hinkley any day before today was the best move. Sacking him today is the next best move. It is an absolute layup from the points of view of the interest of the club, the demands of the vast majority of the supporter base and just competent administration.
Imagine the crowd at the Bulldogs game if they sacked him before then.

We should have moved mountains to keep Voss! The mountain being Ken. Sack him now!

You're right, they are always concerned about optics. But the optics of having half a crowd leave by three quarter time celebrating the anniversary of your only AFL flag, and for the remaining half a crowd to boo the coach, is well and truly a tipping point.

No decision will be made this morning.

I know someone who works on the gates at Adelaide Oval and they said it was the most Port supporters they had seen leave a game by half time.

The footbridge was full during the third quarter.

Those are the optics the board should consider ;)

Right now the media heat is nothing compared to the reality of, on the 20th anniversary celebration of your only AFL premiership, half the crowd leave at 3/4 time with the remaining die hards left at Adelaide Oval booing the senior coach whenever he showed up on the screen.

Depends if we kick the first 3/4 goals then no one ..
But if were 3/4 down then it's a chance to get going..

Unfortunately a lot of our supporters are see monkey do monkey..

If your clapping then everyone claps if your booing then every campaigner boos
Many Port supporters I know have surprised me in that they have been way more accepting of Ken & his mediocrity than I have been. It's been hard to engage them into in-depth conversations about Kens performance. They either don't think about it in any depth or they think it's disloyal to the club.

I know a few like that, but they've largely turned on him too. Even the die hards have glimpsed behind the curtain.

The Club has been complicit in this. They’ve allowed his arrogance and selfishness to fester by NEVER holding him accountable for his performance. Premature contract extensions. Pissweak KPIs. Radio silence. Twisting facts to fit their reality. That’s all on the Club.

Sure Ken’s a dodgy used car salesman but Port has been an absolute wood duck customer.
Remember that ****ing behind the scenes footage where Ken and KT swaggered in to a team meeting like a couple of old gunslingers in the old west walking through main street at high noon, all like 'we know you are', then proceded to delist John Butcher and call it a day.

It was ****ing yous two blokes in the mirror!

A lot of people rock up to the footy with their family or mates, completely forget about the result, then go again next week.

BigFooty types are in the top 0.1% of obsessives about the club (not a value judgment, it just is). A weakness in the campaign against Hinkley has been the ability to understand or communicate with the aforementioned types

Fantastic, I hope they finally got the message. I'm never going to forget that pathetic performance delivered by the club to honour Russell Eberts passing. Since Ken has coached us we have had many examples of poor performances when we have been honouring our proud history.

If the club was serious Ken wouldn't have coached a game after (at the latest) 2019.

I had an excellent pre-game exchange at my 3 year old nephew's birthday party. There were casual Port supporters there who just couldn't understand why I hated Hinkley so much. They laughed about it, completely puzzled on why I would think this way.

Then we coughed up 12 goals straight.
