The narrative that it's Hinkley's brilliance that lifts the Club to multiple prelim appearances as opposed to Hinkley holding the team back from making a grand final (and winning one), wears a bit thin 🤦
This is the kind of thinking we are fighting against. Feels like an insurmountable task at times.

Hinkley rang Kane today.

Not happy with his comments last night.

It was a stern talking to.

Did Kane actually say this??

Wouldn't be the first time he's done this to a media mug. I'm shocked Kane would out Ken like this though as he has been such a previously big supporter of Ken.

It was on the Agenda Setters tonight.

Late February 2016. I was having lunch with KT in the Foreign Correspondents’ Club at the top of Ice House Street in the old part of Central. I paid because it’s a members’ club and I’m a member. We talked for two hours on everything. We talked about Hinkley. I asked KT what the chair under the tree thing at Albury a year earlier had been about. He sadly shook his head. “He’s stubborn,” sighed KT. His body language said a lot more. I said: “He has a streak of pessimism running through him that’s as wide as he is tall.” KT didn’t argue. He changed the subject.

Here we are, nine years later … nine years … watching Hinkley on video taking out his anger at his own gross shortcomings on the journos at a club presser they’d been invited to attend.

Hinkley is now bigger than the Port Adelaide Football Club. He’s bigger because the club allows him to be. He’s more stubborn than stubborn ever was. His innate streak of pessimism is wall-to-wall.

No fan base deserves this abuse. Certainly not us. If Koch can’t see this, can’t work this out, he’s got to go. Pronto. He can follow Hinks the Jinx out the door. I don’t care what happens on field any more. I just want them both gone. Cardone the mole, too.

What have we done to deserve this?
You can clearly see in today's presser, and in all the recent snippets from players and the like over the last few years, that theyve really closed ranks internally.

They believe that they need to ignore anything from the outside, they believe that people on the outside know nothing and that we aren't brave enough say anything to their faces. Hinkley was clearly taking that approach today, basically baiting the journos to say stuff to his face as if he was beyond reproach and any criticism was actually insane.

Its just an absolutely ridiculous line of thinking. This fear of accepting and hearing external criticism, permeates through them like a cancer.

This obsession with being good humans first before athletes is just a weak excuse for failure. Of course it is true, but it comes about because they're too weak minded to fight for success, they all expect it just to come.

Honestly so over how soft our entire group is mentally, from leaders to players. We have a bunch of pretty boys in our squad and it drives me nuts.

Same Travis Boak has backed Hinkley following the Power's straight-sets finals exit at the hands of the GWS

"We play with Kenny and for Kenny and the rest of the coaching group," Boak said.

Beyond embarrassing

This is not the supportive message that it appears to be from inside the bubble.

Head coach taking control of a team meeting is news worthy? Isn't that just the expectation?

So many horrible quotes in there.

"I never go into any game thinking we are going to win, I go into the game hoping we are going to win"

He also says that his job is to set the team up for wins in the future. Even he doesn't think he is winning anything this year and he's already shaping to take credit for any future success.

Such a loser and a grifter.

He’s so despicable. The lack of media scrutiny over the seasons of such loser talk is just as galling.

Trouble is the journos either don’t care (melb) or are too weak to ask the question.

Never a follow up question, waste of time the pressers

About time they asked supporters to the pressers to ask the questions.
They all know if they ask Hinkley a straight out question he doesn't like, he'll get up and walk out like a big baby.

He’s indirectly sucking up to Carr, hoping he’ll keep chadbro( the leak) on next year.

Sack Boak. I mean it, why is he playing on after being WOG in his final game of 2024.

What an unlikeable football club this has become

I think I dislike roughly 80% of people associated with it except a couple of players maybe
Why have you called me all sorts of names then? Maybe because my percentage is moreso around 98% and as a result I’m dead inside.

What a bizarre press conference. He had already had one after the game. For some reason he/they thought that wasn't enough, because people are (rightly) calling them out for a woeful performance.

He basically gave the same old BS batting things away, blocking, deflecting, waffling BS.

Bizarre.
