Opinion Sack Hinkley 3 - 2021 is worse than 2020 already

A number of people have argued in recent years that Hinkley just needs better assistants to cover for is lack of competence in many areas. So rather than addressing the root cause we just keep treating the symptoms.
It's called "Plan B".

aren't we on record saying we don't coach skills because anyone drafted to the system is skilled enough? whether that was recently or like 10 years ago it's seemingly still accurate. i do believe however that Jonas and Clurey have a specalised boxing coach cos all they do is try to punch the ball
This is such a shit thing if true. The true superstars of global sports like NBA and Soccer spent so much time on the basics. If not under their coaches, then on their own. The AFL in some ways is still so amateur.

Edit: The players are dumb as well in regards this IMO. Put in an extra 5 - 10 hours a week on your basic skills and you could push yourself up one notch along Shit > Bad > Average > Good > Great for one or more of field kicking (including on the non-preferred foot), handballing, tackling, goal kicking, marking, etc. This is going to both boost your next contract pay and increase your chance of getting an extra year or two at the end of your career. Players always talk about how short their careers are, then so many aren't willing to do more to maximise and extend them.

Thundercloud outing himself as an alias now is probably the high point of Hinkleys reign. Might unblock him now that we know what he actually thinks of Hinkley.

No in hindsight I was actually wrong. I wish it was that simple. I had a look and he actually did copy a long post on the Melbourne board in its entirety, replaced references to 'Viney' with 'Wines' and references to 'Goodwin' with 'Hinkley'. Why? I don't have the slightest clue. There is absolutely no discernible point that he could have possibly thought he was making. But that's what he did.

That actually makes far more sense, which really hits home what we’ve been dealing with.

I don't get it from a thundercloud point of view.

Because the weird thing is that Melbourne should sack Goodwin if they want to get anywhere.

Spreads some of the criticism around but it doesn't require reading between the lines to see that problems are stemming from Hinkley's 'guiding' hand.

"What you're left with, after you've gone through all the complicated steps of loving and un-loving Port Adelaide, is the realisation that this is a fit, tough, big team, that outside of being fit, tough and big, doesn't have that much of an idea- or the skills or vision to execute towards the idea they might have had...
Ken Hinkley looked every bit as lost as his players, with his eyes nervously darting around during the onslaught, as though he were waiting for someone mystical to walk in and pass him a sheet that contained all the answers, to life and to beating Brisbane".

Just a coincidence that Brisbane go from looking like the Globetrotters to a sack of ‘taters after pulling our pants down. Sure it’s the zillionth time that’s happened. But it’s not got anything to do with our 8-year old program, that’s for sure.

On the money...

If thunderpants was implying that Melbourne are also a shit underachieving team with a shit coach I agree entirely.

Sack Hinkwin

Are we heading towards a cliff?
11 players 30 and over.
KT gone at years end.

I suppose when we start imploding, selfish Ken will scrape as much cash as he can, out of the little battling club from Alberton and run as fast as he can.

If it were up to me, I would sack Hinkley, Voss & Bassett, promote Schofield & Montgomery, employ Choco as player development.

There, got rid of the tag alongs and saved plenty of cash. Move forward PAFC, we have never been this static as far as I can remember.

A passage from the creed. ( To be successful, each of us must be active, aggressive and devoted to this cause. We agree that success is well within our reach and have confidence that each member of both the team and management will suffer personal sacrifices for the common end.)

Sack Hinkley.
