Maybe the players let down Ken and the other coaches, they were the ones on the field!?
You are probably right, he is a genius coach and for 9 years the almost totally turned over playing list and coaching panel have let him down again and again. Not sure how he can be held accountable for that.

Read something on the main board thread that I have completely missed.

Hinkley hasn't won a knockout final since 2014. They were all knock out finals in 2013 and 2014.

2017 EF, 2020 PF and 2021 PF were all knock out finals, all lost.

So anymore discussion around what went wrong in the prelim or has this all been swept under rug like 2007 was?

The dime store CEO’s still running with “perfect preparation”, while his Propaganda Minister keeps churning out horsesh¡t so shamelessly blatant even Ken would blush, so, no. Just one of those things that repeatedly happens exclusively to us.

Hinkley doesn't 'blush' at the horsesh*t shamelessly trotted out by our Propaganda Minister. He doubles down on it.

Your posting use to be interpreted by myself as that there's two problems holding the club back, Koch and his ego, and Ken and his wife, and that by moving on even one of them, we can restore some things from the past that the club has forgotten got it it to where it is.

Lately I'm getting the feeling the rot goes deeper, no longer does the fish rot from the head, but most of the body is kaput too, is this the case, or I am wrong in thinking that?

The Hardwick/Thompson argument is destroyed by the fact that plenty of coaches have won a flag in the first 2 years of their stint at that club. Change works more frequently than staying the course.

5 by my count in the AFL era.

Also all the times staying the course, ya know, didn’t work.

‘Don’t judge Ken and the club on those knockout games, judge them on the win/loss ratio over the season’ someone at the PAFC probably

The more you delve into numbers the worse it gets.

I still can’t get over the fact we’re the only team to not take a spoon and not make a GF since 2012, when our entire shtick is literally waiting our f**king turn.

Bulldogs pre-2016 were the most mediocre team to exist, nowhere near as many spoons as Saints, etc, but also nowhere near the grand finals. Not even one I think.

The net return was still zero for both, but shit, at least one gave itself a few chances.

We are looking at being the Bulldogs 1950whatever to 2016.

50 years of existing between the lines.

I’m thinking you’re not wrong.

The prelim final was our own nine-eleven, literally. It was like ripping a large elastoplast off a wound somewhere on your body and discovering a hole that goes all the way thru to the other side. Like Fearless Fosdick.

Communications I’ve had since that night, with people inside and outside the club, from the board down - some answered, some answered insipidly, others not answered at all - indicate you are not wrong.

The rot has spread down from the head, up from the foundation, and is going to work on the core.

as a club we do not have the courage to do what is required to succeed

we fear pain for gain

Next year we really need to highlight the fact that we’ve gone a full decade with this chump at the helm without reaching a Grand Final. It will be a VFL/AFL record and it needs to become a big talking point in the media. At this point we need to embarrass the club into change.

Yep, the record when he breaks it needs to be the topic of the week in the media. I feel like it's a stat that will get a bit of traction. The narrative that we just need to be patient needs to be met with every Port supporter in the country knowing that we've waited the longest that any supporterbase has with any coach.

Agreed. It’s nothing more than the reality of the situation and it needs to be out there and widely understood. Surely once we’ve “stayed the course” longer than any supporter group in the history of game even our most devout True Believers will start asking questions. Surely.

It will be a great stat to pull out but ultimately it will do nothing. Hinkley is untouchable. Until he's arrested, dies or give up on his own accord we're stuck with him.

If the players love Ken so much how come they played in the preliminary final like they wanted him sacked, or at least wanted change.
The players have my back and I have theirs lol, what a ****ing joke.
Players that play for a coach over come obstacles and give their all like the Dee's players did.
Wake up Koch and Ken, the honey moon is well and truly over.
