Is there anything more ‘Port in the AFL!’ than sweeping a dynasty team on their way to a threepeat, but also losing to 18th and 17th — who both won 4 games each.

I know a lot of the younger ones are tired of the cliched older ones bemoaning of how good the past Port Adelaide was compared with today's rot. But by ****, that Port Adelaide is the reason...the sole reason, we compete in the AFL today. Back then if you didn't give your all, if you shirked a contest, if your time came up and you didn't present...you were turfed out on your ear. Port Adelaide was a living organism of everything heading forward together with only one ambition, success. The chaff was always immediately separated from the wheat, nobody was bigger than the club...nobody. Now we are just a combination of single entities with only self interest at heart and a joke of a bloke who resembles a pathetic form of an Eddie media figure. 20 years of shit as opposite as our foundations as we could be, makes me want to crack open my own skull and feast on the goo inside. I've heard all the good guy Ken preaching about embracing our culture etc. Kochie and all the vomit that spills from his stuck in neutral mouth, enough with the talk already, stop with the bullshit claims and aims. As a successful coach once said "Don't think...do!" Stop with the ring a rosy uncontested possession shit, yes, if we got the ball, they don't, but the object is goal and straight down the guts is the shortest route, 2013-2014 showed glimpses of that, don't worry about the opposition, let them worry about us. If everybody is on board heading in the one direction, we can be invincible. Believing breeds success, accepting mediocrity breeds contempt...if we're stuck with you Ken, at least go out with a bang, you owe it to us and yourself
End rant

Power From Port and Facebook users are not young. I think most young supporters would rather we were not shite for once in their lifetime.

Don't quote Victorian coaches here if you want to be taken seriously.

The only logical explanation is that they ARE playing for the coach.

And the coaching SUCKS.

It's all well and good to have a plan but if you don't do anything to achieve it then it's probably not gonna work. I can have a strategic vision to boink Elizabeth Olsen and Aubrey Plaza at the same time, but if I sit at home holding my knob they probably aren't gonna turn up at my front door in their undies. The club is sitting at home holding their knobs and doing nothing except stick with the same tried and failed strategy.
When I first skimmed this post I thought it said you had a plan to pick up John Olsen from Elizabeth and bonk him at Modbury Plaza.

Hinkley blew his chance. We aren't getting any better next year. We actually don't have the cattle, particularly in the midfield. We'll be a 5-8 team next year. It will be 2017 all over again. The club will justify keeping Hinkley for another year because we made finals. I can see it all now. It makes me feel ill.

I think they will move him on after next year, i'm sure they are saving some pennies re assistant coaches as 'what's the point' - and they may as well use it wisely.

What might help us is if the Crows have a spike, which I think they will with Burgess, they seem to be getting a few things right, lose a Showdown, the mob down the road getting big crowds again, that's when the pressure will start to come I reckon. In some ways the Crows being rubbish of late has probably helped Hinkley's cause as we are still above them on the ladder, that will change quickly.

This reads like an excerpt from Bevan Spencer's diaries.

Possibly one of the funniest posts I have read in awhile

2015 was the year. That was the year we should have won.

Didnt even make finals

Became to comfortable, Tribey has alluded to it in detail but it was one of our most frustrating years.

Poor weekly selections, could not get motivated, Kane Cornes gifted 300 games then walking out on Rd 8, the Showdown debacle where a win got us in finals but we had a President who shared our home game and hugging Chapman after a heartbreaking loss, I could go on.

We played one of the best first quarters of Football in Rd 2 against Hawthorn, we knocked them off with a reserves side in Rd 20 but some of the gold cards issued and complacency was all our own doing.
That year still pisses me, not the fact we didn’t make finals but the amount of times we went missing and throwing up one quarter efforts most weeks.
We made AO ours in 2014 then undone all that hard work.
Kochie should have not been let on the Oval ever again after that R2 crap with the Farris brothers then that last Showdown bullshit with Chapman still irks me.
Kochie 2012 isn’t the saviour of this Club, there was a lot of real work done prior to this, he was just in the right place at the right time and was the better option than Foley at the time.

2015 I remember sadly. It was the year we staged our ANZAC Centenary Luncheon at the Hong Kong Football Club, with Koch on his way home from Gallipoli and John Schumann as honoured guest singing ‘I Was Only 19’.

Reason I mention it is because of KT’s prediction to me that we would be 3 and 2, which we were, but there were serious concerns well in advance that we would be flat in round 6 versus West Coast at home … which we were. Then came Brisbane.

And there went the season … and the one after it … … …

I thought that was only Crows board mentality
Don't need to push the Victorian rhetoric that only Victorian football means anything and that football only started in SA in 1991. When you see Victorians quote Fos Williams or Jack Oatey or even know who they are it will become more acceptable. And going around quoting VFL "greats" and appropriating their culture as football culture does nothing but reinforce their beliefs that its true.

I’m thinking you’re not wrong.

The prelim final was our own nine-eleven, literally. It was like ripping a large elastoplast off a wound somewhere on your body and discovering a hole that goes all the way thru to the other side. Like Fearless Fosdick.

Communications I’ve had since that night, with people inside and outside the club, from the board down - some answered, some answered insipidly, others not answered at all - indicate you are not wrong.

The rot has spread down from the head, up from the foundation, and is going to work on the core.
Can someone explain the power of Kens wife.
