"That's the third question as to why... and as I said it's too early just yet to talk about it."

What a ridiculous demand to make at PF press conference when your side was belted.

Supporters and journalists to a lesser degree deserved an answer.

I wasn't expecting him to give a great answer even if he did address the question, but it was clearly done as a diversion tactic.

Still think this is our 119 moment under Ken

The result and margin was bad enough, but the post match conference is full of denial and lack of accountability.

He doesn't hold a Sherrin mate. Winning the flag's not a race. We'll get there one year, why does it have to be now?

Casey was very much like Hinkley, consistent high regular season finishes and playoff appearances, but never made it to the Finals. The Raptors ownership decided that wasn't good enough, and they sacked him. And the Raptors went on to win their first ever NBA Championship the very next season.
Add to that they had a ready to go coach in the waiting (Nick Nurse) who had a clear view on how they could take the next step. Yeah, the Khwai thing pushed them over but it was still a ballsy move.

Have to wonder whether Schofield was our Nurse and then who should have been playing the Ujiri role.

“We had another successful year in terms of win-loss”

...
We exist to have a win loss quotient greater than 0.5

No wonder the happy clapping Kool-aid drinkers are so enamoured with Kenny Hinkley.

lol

The Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing the development and implementation of the Club’s football strategy, which includes:
1. Develop the Club’s football program and coaching strategy.
That's not my job mate
2. Overall coaching and mentoring of players and coaching staff - implement game plan effectively.
That's not my job mate
3. Relationship management across a diverse stakeholder group.
That's not my job mate
4. Developing a culture of success with shared values both on and off the field.
That's not my job mate
5. Promoting the club and its brand.
That's not my job mate

But how's the stabilty, hey?
Good things come to those who wait - and wait - and wait - and wait.
Yeah we can all wait another decade or two for any joy.
We're all young, fit supporters............... oh wait!
:(

Ken Hinkley's annual performance review by Chris Davies:

1. Develop the Club’s football program and coaching strategy.
Exceeds Expectations - overall positive W-L record and is a stud who has sired an AFL coaching dynasty in Richardson, Walsh, and Voss.

2. Overall coaching and mentoring of players and coaching staff - implement game plan effectively.
Meets Expectations - has gelled the playing group into an unbelievably connected unit against the white noise from outside. Continues to innovate defensively around achieving goalless quarters and just needs to focus this on the opposition instead of ourselves.

3. Relationship management across a diverse stakeholder group.
Exceeds Expectations - has the AFL media eating out of his hand. Manages upwards effectively keeping both the Chairman and CEO in check.

4. Developing a culture of success with shared values both on and off the field.
Meets Expectations - still mathematically possible to win 3 flags in 5 years if we threepeat in 22-24.

5. Promoting the club and its brand.
Exceeds Expectations - "How good are the chips?" has gone viral and has also laid the groundwork for bringing Australian Outdoor Living on as a Premier Partner.

The news is rival clubs are cirling so called power stars including mckenzie georgeiades as well as amon.
i can see this for a country mile while hinkley and koch completely destroy this club they will disenfranchise players and as a result koch's so called destination club will become a departure zone.

Trent McKenzie is 31 next year. Not sure why clubs would be interested in him.

Only thing circling McKenzie would be vultures.
Amon lands us a 1st round pick in this draft Thank you it's been nice but let's move on.
Mitch is contracted till when? West Coast aren't giving up their 1st round pick.

Reminds me of the end of The Big Short,

‘they responded by implementing a sweeping independent review which resolved to remove the Chairman, replace the CEO, sack the coach, change the captain and trade out a handful of underperformers… just kidding, they commissioned Michelangelo Rucci to pen a series of whitewashing puff-pieces’
This is so true. It's almost unbelievable.
Like business (good ones and bad ones) sack people purely as a scape goat, fair or not, they do it for optics as a minimum, for the PR to protect their brand and demonstrate accountability. See birdman and pyke.

Nope not at Port. Just hands covering ears "i hear nothing".

Or this doozy....

"the gigantic drop in form after their GF appearance. No thanks".

I suppose a 0-5 start after a prelim final is a slightly smaller fall than after a grand final...

Powerade 08 "If Hinkley did any of that, you would be telling us how good it is."

I'm not comparing our current coach to Don Pyke. The post I replied to was a suggestion that we should appoint Don Pyke and I gave a list of reasons why I don't want him at our club. I didn't say Ken was a better option? I'm saying we would be astonishly stupid to choose Pyke.

Ha! There it is. Just when I was enjoying a grown up, rational considered opinion you came along. Thanks for dumbing it back down.
Sorry but you come in here and insult posters with your comments, actually the moderators should put a ban on you for comments like this. (You’re way to rational and well written to be in this thread.)

If you want an adult conversation, maybe you shouldn't generalize by implying we are all irrational because we choose to post in this thread.

Gotta be honest, that KFC ad is definitely in his top 5 accomplishments at the club

MG is great but I think still a gamble.

Wonder what the balancing would be in a MG for JHF trade...

Is rather keep MG and Marshall in the forward line for the next ten years wouldn’t you?
Yeah best case scenario is they obviously become dominant and develop real chemistry over the years.

But if you're asking me right now if I'd do MG for JHF, I'd sign those papers in seconds.
