Richmond. Just the name scares ya, don't it? Great club. Big club. One of the big four, aren't they? Malbun is the real spiritual home of football and we love coming up against the big clubs. We'll be there giving our all.

The Power meet Richmond at the MCG on Thursday night, with Hinkley describing the Tigers as a "scary proposition".

Lol, already with the excuses.

"They have big claws and stuff and growl really louds"

Ken Hinkley probably.

What a pathetic gutless coward he is.

We've got a long way to go before we can be anything like 9th placed Richmond. At our home ground.

Remember when we lost to their VFL reserves side?

Remember when we lost to their VFL reserves side?

• In the preceding fortnight Richmond had lost to Collingwood by 44 points and GWS by 49 points

• We were coming off a 2-1 start, bookended by ThE BeSt WiN eVeR against Melbourne at the G, and the customary late game fade-out to Brisbane at the Gabba, featuring third-game Connor Rozee’s 21 & 5, Josh Walker taking 16 intercept marks, Lachie Neale having 43 touches and 15 clearances, Eric Hipwood booting 6, Boaky having 35 & 2 and Robbie having 21 & 2 with 2 goal assists.

• Richmond would come over without literally their five best players: Martin, Riewoldt, Rance, Cotchin and Houli.

• Hinkley pregame: “I’m uncomfortable with the favourites tag”

• Dylan Grimes has the first Brownlow Votes of his career — BOG & three, no less.

• Hinkley postgame: “We’ve got a long way to go to be like Richmond”

Star coach! Brilliant mind! Beggars belief.

Yeah, but with our club that could just as likely mean they know Ken doesn't have a job at GWS lined up, but doing the spineless thing and keeping in 2023 will (they think) be an easier sell to the gaslit, if they think Ken is so good others are chasing him, so it's definitely better to stay with the known (most winnest in 2020/2021 coach!) than a new coach.

Hinkley is a shit coach, but I can at least trust his intentions - to do what's best for him. I have zero trust in anyone off field at the club with any power (no pun) to do what's best for the club, over what's best for their reputation and ego.

Yep. The Hinkley to GWS chatter feels like it could very well be the Port hierachy floating it out there so they can say how they've triumphed by locking down Hinkley as coach in 2023 (probably extend him too).

I trust nothing to do with this club.

Hinkley is adamant the Tigers retain a fear factor forged from winning three flags from 2017 to 2020.
"They do. They're a fantastic football club and incredibly well coached.

Well that doesn't say too much about his own coaching.

Cannot remember what it was like to have a well coached team.

PORT Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley would like to turn the tables on AFL commentators linking him with the vacant Greater Western Sydney head coaching job.

"I dismiss it," Hinkley told reporters on Wednesday of the speculation.

"I don't take any notice of it because I'm committed to Port Adelaide and I have got a job to do at Port Adelaide.

"This happens all the time, speculation just comes from nowhere and a lot of it, unfounded speculation.
He doesn't say this particular peice is unfounded though does he.

The words of ken.

The below is the context...i suppose it means the season isn't over so we shouldn't be super complacent? He gets paid a lot of money. It's really not fair!

"But I still don't sit here and get comfortable that from 0-5 it's a great result to get back to winning five or your next six.

"... We're still in the competition, that is what you do get some satisfaction out of, because you know how hard this competition is."

That stuff is just so very infuriating.
