One of the two teams flogged in a prelim last year are now Premiers. The other "wouldn't change a thing" and finished 11th.

Does anyone on our board actually care?

(Spoiler: it was such a successful strategy we've gone all in on it next year too )

Also one club stays determined and hungry the following year. The other, the captain comes out and says they lost the fire in the belly. Pathetic

I wonder what Jonas was up to today. No doubt living his best life.
Playing finals is overrated and just a sugar hit. Jonas was probably at his shack on the river enjoying good skiing weather.

If Hinkley was asked what was his highlight of 2022 was

He'd probably say Grand Final Day at the mighty G the home of football. Enthusiastically the gimp would say I sent Chris all my notes about the day we beat Sydney on that sheep paddock Adelaide Oval. And it looks like he must have read them this time because Wow. I can't believe that a small suburban club like Port got within 10 goals of these champions just proves that I'm still at the top of my coaching game. That's what Kochy, Ross Lyon and Caroline Wilson told me when I was trying to get into the MCG Members.

I couldn't care less how much or little hair our coach has, I just want him to not be a dumb hillbilly with a loser mentality.
Dumb hillbillies don't care much about their personal presentation, therefore a coach with an actual hairstyle implies one that is not a hillbilly.

Hiring Primus over Scott will forever be one of the biggest * ups in our history
Scott has said that he only went for the Port job for the experience and it was the first senior coach position he went for so maybe he didn't come over very well. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

How can someone lose their fire in the belly after achieving nothing? Or is choking in a preliminary final now regarded as an achievement at Alberton?

I have a vague memory that the year after, he went on the footy show and basically said that he was really disappointed about not getting the Port job, i.e. he legitimately wanted the job.

Any excuse is better than the truth. And the truth is our game plan does not stand up when it matters and never will stand up.

Doesn't matter. Ken will have an honourable loss to both Sydney and Geelong next year who both just do what they need to and get the points. Rucci and Kornes to talk up him needing an extension because he gets within a few goals of last year's premier/grand finalist.
