Worst case scenarios:

1. We repeat 2017 if we don't win another game and finished 5th or 6th and go on to lose our home elimination final.


2. We win just one of the remaining minor round and drop to 4th and go out in straight sets

3. Win just one of the remaining minor round and win a home Semi and lose away Prelim.

Rewarding an 11 year coach for achieving any of the above just screams out "Hey we're mediocre so we've over achieved"

They could not possibly sign an extension based on any of the above scenarios but yeah history tells us they probably will.

Even a Buckley led Collingwood-esque loss in the Granny should be enough grounds to not extend.

Garry Lyon said Port should offer Hinkley a 3 year contract minimum, just in case Gold Coast decided to offer 5 years or something.

It was the most straightforward thing, all Koch needed to do was say we'll sit down and have discussions with Ken at the end of the the season. If Ken and his manager didn't like that then it's thank you and goodbye, its been 11 years we don't owe you anything. Nothing about that would've been controversial.
