Garry Lyon said Port should offer Hinkley a 3 year contract minimum, just in case Gold Coast decided to offer 5 years or something.

It was the most straightforward thing, all Koch needed to do was say we'll sit down and have discussions with Ken at the end of the the season. If Ken and his manager didn't like that then it's thank you and goodbye, its been 11 years we don't owe you anything. Nothing about that would've been controversial.

We know why Koch worked so hard to keep Tredrea off the board.

Tredrea would be fighting tooth and nail against Hinkley getting an extension, opposed to the rest of the board who clearly just do what Koch says.

What exactly is going thru every board members head at the moment including koch I don't know I would only be guessing. But nothing has been signed on the dotted line. It will come down to the next few weeks and how comfortable or uncomfortable they are with ken. But people are right carr is at huge risk at being lost if they make the wrong call.

It would be naive to think the "boys club" doesn't extend all the way to player and media personality managers. They all go to the same functions, and I have little doubt these plans and narratives are hatched between them all.
