Anything other than what's in the media growly?

What exactly is going thru every board members head at the moment including koch I don't know I would only be guessing. But nothing has been signed on the dotted line. It will come down to the next few weeks and how comfortable or uncomfortable they are with ken. But people are right carr is at huge risk at being lost if they make the wrong call.

Garry Lyon said Port should offer Hinkley a 3 year contract minimum, just in case Gold Coast decided to offer 5 years or something.

It would be naive to think the "boys club" doesn't extend all the way to player and media personality managers. They all go to the same functions, and I have little doubt these plans and narratives are hatched between them all.

If they re-sign Hinkley they deserve to lose Carr. And if that happens I hope the entire arse falls out of next season and they collect the spoon.

Yeah, my nephew who works the desk at the rub n tug place Lobbe frequents is saying the same thing.
Im mates with hinkleys pre game fluffer. He says lately he has been windmilling with much less vigour. Thinks he either has ED in his old age or he's been given some bad news.

Has there ever been such a pathetic loser in the sport command so much national media attention surrounding his future? It's just bizarre. Just more evidence this entire circus is a construct of his management.

Has there ever been such a bizarre media cohort that apparently love a coach so much but simultaneously hate his club so much.

Bizarre especially when you consider how lazy the average football journalist is and they have all of this laid out in front of them.
Longest serving coach to not make a GF.
Team that consistently fails with any expectation put on them.
No appreciable game plan other than work harder and kick it to Charlie.
Never said a single insightful thing in his life.
Hinkley is the easiest of targets and he's never been questioned. It shows how irrelevant our club is to the rest of the AFL and as long as we pay our own way everyone is happy to think that's a success

I must say I'm becoming increasingly uncomfortable with anyone who has been part of the Hinkley era being our next coach. Hardwick is a better option IMO.
This club isn't going to move forward whilst Koch, Richardson and the current board are still at the club.
Wouldn't matter who we sign, the standards are set from above...they would be happy if Hardwick made finals every 4 years, we'd be in the same spot as we are now.

I still have a membership, partly by accident. My plan was to pay the retainer and hold my seat until Hinkley was gone, but the club just went and deducted my full membership fee, despite my two emails to membership requesting to be removed from auto-renewal. So they essentially stole from me.
If and when Ken Hinkley has his contract renewed I am going to have to physically drive down to the club to have myself permanently removed from the membership list. Haven't attended a game this year, and only attended Robbie's last game in 2022. I don't even miss it.

My lad still saying his info is Hinkley will be retiring, he is still adamant.
I had heard similar, but chatter in the media about him getting an extension worries me.

You just know that Koch will jump at an opportunity to give Hinkley an extension and drop the “you all though Kenny was a super hero when we won 13 in a row” just like in 2018.

It's looking increasingly likely the major reason behind the AFL's agenda in forcing that absolute prat Koch on us, giving him control of the board, and with genuine supporters who are absolutely sick of his non stop verbal crap about `his football club!' being described as `white noise,' plus the seemingly never ending unearned contract extensions for the longest serving non gf coach in the history of the game at the highest level, was always to turn the PAFC into just another generic franchise for the happy clappers!

Heard nothing in that sen show that suggests Hinkley has signed. Also didn’t hear anything that suggests the media are all in on it. If anything it was almost like Lyon’s trying to call Koch’s bluff re the August comment. Also said if you’re going to re sign him then give him three years if you have that much confidence in him. Also we’ve hit August and Kane comes out with there’s a ‘verbal agreement’. Are they now waiting until August is over? I can’t really follow this and probably tells you a lot about how the Vaudevillian is running the club.

Yep agreed, I won't believe it until I see it, I don't trust this club.

I'm sure Koch moved the goal posts the last time we heard from him, saying that they will deal with it after finals but in the same breath he said he would love Ken to be at Port for another 10 years, so who knows.

This is probably the only thing holding it up at the moment.

Koch has offered Ken 2 years and Ken is just waiting for Koch to fold for a longer deal.
