Exactly how I feel. Given everything we did, things we've done over the last few years in terms of drafting and trading, this year was a failure.
Yes it’s getting worse the longer it goes on for me, at this moment, whatever happen during the season, if we win every game from now on, I have lost all my hope of winning another Grand Final, I really did think we, couldn’t of had a better year then we did, i had lost my hope with those previously losing GF, I was there at the 3 of them, this one I just couldn’t bring myself to go again, obviously deep down I didn’t think we could win it, but I kept trying to stay positive, but no, same result as before, thing is how can I ever think we can win another GF, even if we are sitting 4 games on top of the ladder, sorry for my feel sorry story, but I feel better now sharing my thoughts 🥺

Let's be honest, our drafting, trading has been a nightmare for obtaining the ultimate success, a flag. Off the field though, Buddy, Heeney, etc have brought the club to a now 75k members and in a good financial footing. I judge a successful footy club on the silverware, but the longevity of a club relies on all of the above.

However, to contradict what I have already said, losing 4 Grand Finals (3 embarrassingly) in a decade is arguably worse than 4 wooden spoons in a decade. We don't get the priority pick, we get humiliated in front of national audience and we get mental scarring and bad reputation in Grand Finals. At least when you are the worst team in the comp, noone expects anything more.

Well everyone will tip Lions Hawks Dogs Pies GWS etc now and tip us to fall so they can be the underdogs again

I think I would rather loose 4 grand finals then have 4 wooden spoons. Not sure we would have 75k members if we had 4 wooden spoons but understand where you are coming from.

They won’t sack him. He’s got them 75k members all while not winning the grand final. Corporate Pridham and Harley will say that’s a great success.

He has to fall on his sword if we get change.

Arsenal vibes.

The thing that worries me most is that the only antidote to the GF loss is winning a GF. We can play as well as we want during the H&A season, we can win as many finals as we like, by as many points as we like, but until we get the GF monkey off our back it's all meaningless.

The other thing that worries me is that there are no guarantees we'll get back there. For all we know. This could have been our last shot at a flag for the foreseeable future.

This team have shown time and time again that they're not willing to put it all on the line in a GF. Our opponents have consistently shown more heart when the stakes were highest.

Unfortunately, outside of what Roos achieved in 2005 and set up in 2012, this club has underachieved and our grand finals record under Longmire is poorer than our historical record in GFs.

Yep ! it's all talk and bs until then.

I mean Horse comes out and wins a flag next year he is a hero for cleaning up his own mess I guess.

But changing coaches, trading players, new gameplan, etc etc it all means nothing until they fix the Grand final day mess.

Horse now distracting by playing victim about the post game press conference.

He really is coming across as a knob.

Half the side spent two hours deliberately avoiding body contact on Saturday afternoon. Exactly like in 2022.

He has bigger things to address than the press conference doors opening .

At least we probably didn't get any injuries on Saturday..boys made sure of that by not going near a Lions player when they might be in danger of getting a bruise.

He didn't actually say anything about it or write the articles about it to be fair, seemed like he just wondered if someone could shut a door so he could hear

Why is it Horses own mess?Despite the grand final losses the club is in great shape, how about every one start focusing on the Lions and their great win.Saturdays loss hurt us all but we must move on and stop living in the past.

Move on? it was 2 days ago .

Horse is the constant through all the years of achievement . If we won on the weekend would you be happy to move on and gloss over his contribution? Nah people would be in here celebrating his 2nd flag and calling him a legendary coach and he masterminded it all. Like Fagan is getting.

The league is about winning the big one and reputations are won and lost on the day.

Horse has lost so many times and now has by far the worst record of anyone to make 5 grand finals. Most coaches with his record on the day don't get that many.

Not only are they losses he has now been flogged on the day 3 times.

How many more times until it his mess I wonder and we do look at if he can deliver.

Maybe a couple more ? Like I said maybe it's just changing how he coaches or the team around him? but something has to change and like it or not when we win he gets the glory when we lose he rightly cops his share.

His gameplan was pathetic

I’m not sure it was gameplan.

It was effort and composure. There are big psychological issues with this playing group. I think we’ve got a lot of talented, cocky boys, and not enough serious, no-nonsense men.

But if the coach can’t figure out how to get them in the right headspace for a grand final, something needs to change.

Absolutely spot on. Too many boys too worried about dicking around.

Need some men in the team

Yeah if we knew exactly what it was we wouldn't be on here.

By gameplan I just found the forward movement and lack of it , lack of leading and the defensive zoning baffling is all.

The mental thing is the biggest issue. Just watch the replay for the first final or even the prelim. No not the ground size as some
neutrals bang on. But look at the hard running, determination, mental fortitude the boys had. Where was that? not even there for 5 minutes.

Rampe has been on of the great leaders of this club time and time again and he looked lost on the weekend , but prior to saturday did you expect him to be a lost boy out there? I didn't

All well and good wanting to bring in a coach to get us that extra step further, but who even is that and what does it look like? The thoughts of what could happen under a different coach scares me more than sticking fat.

After years in the doldrums Man United finally got a coach in Ole who took them back up to 2nd two years running. It wasn't good enough because fans thought he wasn't capable of finishing the job - they basically drove him out of the club and look at the state of them now.

This is horses race until this team can race no more. All it takes is one grand final in a matchup that suits us, and all the pain would be worth it. I'm still convinced we would've smashed Geelong, wanted to avoid brisbane like the plague unlike some here. I think footy is as simple as that at times..

If I had noticed him holding hands with Warner and giggling like school girls in the pre game photo I would have expected it

Agree, but ok on Friday then.

As a generalisation weren't we all sort of happy Rampe got the chance to hold the cup because he is a great leader
