Roast Sack Koch - Chairman of The Redeem Team

Was at pains to reiterate that Hinkley getting extended came at the recommendation of former capt Cassisi and Rob Snowden. Didn’t mention anyone else. I’d love to know what Cassisi’s credentials are for him to have such a significant input into the decision.
Easy when you don't let people who challenge your decisions on the board

Koch jumped the shark when he had the Farriss brothers in the goalsquare.

It has been all downhill ever since.

Absolutely. We drank our own bathwater over the 2014 offseason and then it unravelled right away with that shitshow.

Which was 9 years ago, by the time next season rolls around.

For reference, in 2015 the bottom 2 clubs were Brisbane and Carlton who are both in prelims this weekend. And of course most team on the ladder have made a grand final except us.

It seems Koch, Richardson and Davies think people will simply be satisfied by the fact they are "Doing a review" to cover up their incompetence and blatant lies. These are the same people that have done the previous reviews that have led us nowhere and are the ones responsible to begin with for the poor decisions made. Where is the review on their performance?

I don't claim to be an expert. But as part of my Business Economics Degree I spent a lot of time studying statistics, quantitative methods, data analysis, statistical trends and forecasting. I am obviously using a very very different set of data to what Koch is to analyse performance.

Koch admitted that things like winning percentage are what he looks at. On that measure Hinkley is a better coach than Choco and many other premiership coaches.

Koch's idea of success is 'do not be terrible'. For most of the rest of us, our idea of success is 'win a premiership'.

Fresh out of a corporate box by the look.

Kids lol. Rozee and Butters have been named in multiple All Australian squads and played in 3 finals series (being eliminated at home in all 3). Absolute cop out of the highest order.

While marooning a 28 year old plodding Brownlow Medallist on the wing.

Kochie on 5AA:

Ken was re-signed before finals because players who requests trades to us want to know who the coach is.
lol at changing the narrative away from "signing Hinkley gives the team the certainty it needs to perform in finals" after an embarrassing straight sets exit.

Pretty important to sign a perennial loser up for two more years as head coach in order to be a chance of landing Jordan ****ing Sweet.

Here's my counterfactual, dickhead. Ditch the bogan and we get Grundy.

We look forward to a "totally external, unbiased, forensic examination of the club" from top to bottom, by an "expert panel of successful people with an extensive footy background" - NOT cherry picked by the club, nor with constrained terms of reference, nor with an ironclad agenda to deliver.

David Koch "A lot of teams don't even get the chance to play finals" We are not talking about the odds of winning lotto. 8/18... More than 40% of the competition plays in finals each year.

44.44% each year.

Under Hinkley we have made finals 54.45% of the time which is I guess mildly above average. Of course this does not factor into account things such as relative list strength or the fact that a team like the SUNS have literally never even been close to finals which boosts the odds for all other teams.

It's quite clear that Koch thinks making finals is a success in and of itself. And by no coincidence, the finals performances reflect this 'Mission Accomplished' attitude.

"I asked each and every board member if they agreed with us resigning Ken, and each one said yes." What he didn't say was that if anyone said no, they'd no longer be on the board!!!

This is meaningless in light of the highly malicious rejection of Tredrea as a board member. Stack the board with yes men and women and people who think like you do and of course everyone will agree. Ridiculous reasoning.

Kochie on 5AA:

Saying our midfield are kids and they'll learn from it.
We were banged up and lack of Ruck/KPD depth was obvious and will be fixed.

Says our finals chokes is like 2001/02/03. We've been here before.
Ban on talking to 5AA people is a lie. We've offered people up to talk and they've rejected the offers due to lack of time.
Says he hates players saying they "hate the crows" and denies that it's manufactured from a script for Showdown week.
Based on these statements it sounds like the Branson cruise was down a river in Egypt.

My favourite part from Koch " I was really comfortable with the process of re-appointing Ken" Of course you are... it was your process!

Did those 2 SA Great dikwads interviewing him put him under any sort of pressure? I can't bring myself to listen.
To be fair they did try and ask a few probing questions. Mentioned our 2 final wins in 9 years, the timing to reappoint Hinkley before finals but Koch was never going to say he or anyone at the club has made a mistake.

I wonder if that was the first time around, or after it became clear he was getting extended anyway?

A unanimous board is rarely actually unanimous

Disgusting.

"I look at the data"

....
Koch going on about how he "looks at the data" just highlights how little he understands what it takes to be a successful professional sporting organisation. He can look at the data all he likes but if he doesn't have the understanding to educe the correct actions needed to be successful then it is a waste of time.

He also likes to say that the decision to extend Hinkley was based on data not emotion yet the club then goes on about how the players all loving Daddy was a factor in Donuts getting a contract extension.
