When Melbourne and Essendon were found to have breached the cap, when were they told of this. Before or after the trading period?? Does anyone know???

As soon as the investigation concluded I guess. Dont know what dates though.
This Carlton one should have been concluded before trading started, instead the AFL powerbrokers were off in Ireland with their snouts in the proverbial trough.
Nothing against IR, but did we need both Jackson and Demitriou singing the national anthem.
