Traded Sam Kerridge [traded w/ #28 to Carlton for Troy Menzel]

Kerridge is a good player. Injuries have hurt him. When he came to Adelaide he uses to dominate in the SANFL as a 19 year old at Sturt.
Our issue is we have too many of his type. Brad and Matt Crouch, CEY, Grigg, Thompson, etc.
In another team he will be first 22.
Wish him good luck if he goes. He deserves a shot at it.

But are his injuries serious enough to impact him long term? Can he get on the park?

I'm keen on kerridge, but obviously not If injuries have ruined him

Well he came back against gws mid season this year. . And then did his ankle with a hard awkward tackle from a gws player.. so it's just unlucky for me. He goes hard on the training track and would probably be fitter than anyone on carltons list. Id rather he stay on our list, i hope Pyke does not give golden passes this year.

I've never understood why Kerridge can't get a game in front of guys like Van Berlo, Wright or Mackay. Would be an decent pick up for a team like Carlton.

A 4/10 game from a 150 gamer is far more valuable than a 6/10 from a 20 gamer. We value experience very highly at the AFC.

Their 38 is too low, and useless to the Crows since they won't be going that deep into the draft, but 20 is probably too high. Maybe bundle him up with the 28 we got from the cats and get Carlton's 20 and maybe their 3rd? Or just take the 38 and bundle it with the 28 and get a higher pick from one of the northern clubs who need points for an academy pick?

Given that we've hardly gone out of our way to play him, I'd be happy with Kedge plus 28 for 20. I think it's unders, but Carlton pick early in the PSD, so we've not got a very strong hand to play.

**** off Carlton. Kerridge is just a waste of a list spot.

At first we looked at Treloar and he went somewhere else. Then we looked at aish and he wanted the Pies. Then we looked at Carlisle and he chose the Saints.

**** right off with this list clogger! Curnow can do roughly the same job even if we agreed he is not as good...no real ****ing point to it all.

How ****ing low can we sink! **** me, nek minute, we will be signing Warnock to a pay rise and 4 year deal!

He's a uncontracted fringe player.

Can't say that a third round pick is unders for him.

Don't you want 21 for Bell, or something close to that? I think Kerridge is probably as good as Bell if not better. I expected to have massive year this season, was looking absolutely ripped during the pre-season, and then got injured and struggled to get a look in.

We got pick 37 for Scott Selwood as AFL compo.

I reckon he's got a few more runs on the board than Sam Kerridge.

not really relevant as this is a trade and not compo.

So much hate for a player that isn't even on your list yet, and might not at all. If we were offloading Mackay to you, then I'd fully understand your annoyance, but Kerridge is not a bad player. I'm fairly certain he'll be a better player than whoever you'd draft with your third rounder this year.

But we'd be more than happy to keep Kedge if you hate him so much. Hopefully Pyke can give him the better run he deserves next year.

That said, we would probably also be happy to trade him if he wants more opportunities.

You'll think we're trying to pump up his tyres, but the majority of our board were genuinely perplexed as to why we kept choosing old, ineffectual plodders like van Berlo, Mackay and Wright over performing young players like Kerridge and Ellis-Yolmen. Plus Kerridge's type with high stamina will become more valuable as the interchange cap is reduced next year. Not to mention he's a two-way runner that can tag but also hit the scoreboard.

Sam lived with a host family who are friends of mine when he played for the Pioneers so I know him and have kept track on his career, is definitely the type of player Carlton could do with. I am with you guys as to being perplexed why he didn't get more of a look in this year, thought in the pre-season he was seriously about to blossom. Has a few strings to his bow, fit, tall, athletic, works hard. I know Sanderson absolutely loved him.

Think it's one of those unfortunate situations for supporters like we went through with Jacobs, you guys know his value and potential and so does the club yet you know on the market you aren't going to get his 'true' value all things considered.

Whilst i'm a bit over Carlton trading away our picks for players instead of just going to the draft in strong positions, which we've needed to do for some time now, he is someone i'd be keen to see in Blue and who we would get for unders, as much as that sucks for you guys.

he is so much better than Curnow its not funny

Averages 12.15 touches and .85 goals.

Against North he averages 16.5 touches and 5 goals.
Those averages are really impacted by tagging duties. He is not a tagged. He is an excellent high half forward. Will run all day and knows where the goals are.

Will be a cheap buy for someone. Crows have never used him properly and am sure that another club will get him cheap, and he will be a solid contributor.

Best of luck to whoever gets him, I will watch with envy seeing him get a fair run.

So, are you thinking a second or third for him?

kerridge is only 22 . he can play back , forward , mid & run with rolls .
I think if afc were to manage him better he would be a very good player for 8/10 yrs .

Honestly think he's underrated by many crows supporters. Injuries at the wrong times are what has kept him out of the side.

As for his value, I'd suggest crows fans ask themselves: "would i rather pick xx or Kerridge"?
Start at xx=40 and work your way down to the pick at which you'd be happy to give him up. For me that's about 30.

38 too far off to be worthwhile in my opinion, unless we're forced into it. Havent heard anywhere that he's requested a trade?

Carlton has apparently offered his management a three year 300k deal?????

Now its up to Kerridge to accept or reject if accepted Blues and Crows will need to find a deal/

It may depend on pyke as to whether he gets a decent go... But that is a good offer which I reckon he will accept.

I'm a big wrap for kerridge as a utility who can play any non-kpp. Should have played more this year despite injuries.

Will be a great pickup if he leaves.
