They've just announced the cast for SAS Australia (Celebrity) 2022. Far from being a cast from "Who's Who", it's cast from "Who the **** is that?".

Going through that list...

I'm familiar with the following: Boyd (NRL), Carey (AFL), Hall (AFL, Boxing), Crehan (I remember thinking how hot she was on the V8 Supercars coverage last year), Wu (Olympics diving), Heugil (Olympics swimming), Tkautz (read my lips), Fenech (bad SBS comedies).

I have heard of the following, but don't know much about them: Holtznagel

Who the **** are these people? Boyle, Bridges, Buttrose (apparently he's Ita's son - but he himself has 0 celebrity status), Gilbert, Green, Heinrich, Pledger, Zerafa.

While I remember Crehan from the 2020 V8 Supercars coverage, I wouldn't in any way rate her as a celebrity. Has Melissa Tkautz done anything at all, since leaving Neighbours and becoming a one-hit-wonder with "Read My Lips", back in the late 1980s? I don't think I've heard of her in 30 years.

It looks to me as if they spent the entire budget on Michael Clarke, who was reported to have been offered $750K, leaving no money in the kitty for any other real celebrities. Then Clarke injured his back, while training for the show... Oops! This list would not be out of place on "Dancing with the Who the **** Are These People?".

Given that Clarke injured his back and had to withdraw, only days before filming was due to start - I wonder which of the Z-listers was the "reserve", who was called up at the last minute?

EDIT: There are 17 recruits listed. That's a very unusual number. Maybe they didn't call up a "reserve", to replace Clarke? Both 2020 & 2021 seasons started with 18 recruits, so it's likely that Clarke wasn't replaced.

Ive heard of 6 of them. I did have a big laugh with "Ellia Green, 28 – Rugby superstar". Not just a regular star... but a SUPER star.

Who I have never heard of.

Melissa Tkautz - not heard anything about her in 20 years.

Locky Gilbert was in survivor and then the bachelor
Elia Green plays rugby sevens (Olympian I think?)
Anna Heinrich won the first season of rhe bachelor (Tim Robards)
Michael Zerafa is a boxer, I think he was meant to fight Kostya Tzsyus son pretty recently.

Don’t know the rest and honestly only had a fleeting knowledge of most

I may have heard of Zerafa... maybe.

As for the rest - thank you for explaining why I have never heard of them. You couldn't pay me to watch that Batchelor garbage.

It's like that I'm A Celebrity show, some of the so called celebrities are only known for being on other reality shows and if you don't watch those shows you won't know who they are.

I watch Survivor so I know who Locky is but the people from other reality shows I wouldn't have a clue who they are.

Yep... participating in a reality TV show means that you need to get a real job, it doesn't make you a celebrity. It places you somewhere below politicians & used car salesmen, slightly above Roxy Jacenko & Brynne Edelstein, on the totem pole of uselessness to humanity.
