Really? Give me the no-names doing the proper course, over the celebrities (especially the no-names & oxygen thieves in S3) doing the dumbed down namby-pamby version of the course.
I see where you’re coming from, a lot of the stuff they go on about they make out like they were saving the world everyday they were on the job. I’d imagine the rest of the boys in their unit would be scoffing at the shit they say. Buttttt…. They’ve made a good career for themselves and are getting paid handsomely for it. They’ll have the last laugh.
Yep, beats the hell out of working as a mercenary in some shithole 3rd world country, getting shot at every 2nd day; or playing bodyguard to the rich & famous.
Because the attitude, bravado and even activities are not a reflection of unit or how they operate. The show is perceived as basically a cash grab trading on the name from many current and former operators.
The activities in the celeb version are rubbish. Those in the non-celebrity version are much more realistic, and much tougher.
I think it was mostly for embellishing his part in the Bravo Two Zero mission.
The temptation to cash in on the SAS name is overwhelming for some but it really does leave sour taste for many. This SAS show really does take it to a new level however as most of it is a complete fabrication. But if people enjoy it then thats great, it does seem like fun.
