Season 2016

Another interesting weekend,
My Evelyn are on the nose at the moment and in the mix to finish bottom 3.
Emerald are already on their way to 2nd division.
Woori with a couple out again have no depth, have Wandin next week and will continue to slid.
Our boys battled well with a few out for 3 quarters before Wandin kicked away with 6 majors in the last.
Last game to finish the round this week and looks to me that a gap is opening up between 1&2 then the next 4.

Woori V Wandin next week 8 point game......Woori generally get up for these sort of games. Ben Monkhurst always dominates Wandin. Will be a huge game in terms of where both teams end up on the ladder

I can only imagine what it would've been like in the rooms after Mt. Evelyn beat Wandin in round 1 to what it would be like now. The Mounters have only won 1 and Wandin only lost 1 since and, ironically, both in round 3.

Healesville have notched a couple of goods over the last 2 weeks and should beat Belgrave to be 7 - 2 at the half way mark. If Monbulk beat Mt. Evelyn and Woori lose to Wandin the they will be both on 5 wins and seperated by percentage for 5th spot. If Upwey beat Olinda they will both be on 7 -2, or lose and Olinda will 2 games clear of them. Wandin win and Olinda lose then Wandin will be a game clear on top, so there's a bit riding on games next weekend.

Well almost all games went as predicted with the exception of our boys who were never really in it against Mt Eve. Kane Jones 5 goals off the back of a 7 the prior week has him in some great form. Woori v Wandin looked close and the top 5 is starting to take shape.

Great to see an even division two comp this year. Seville and gembrooke knocking off the previously undefeated Yarra glen.
Only two games separating 2nd to 6th.

Been a few years since its been this tight.

They'll be bottom two.

Early call but to this point is correct. Powelly sitting 2nd last. Massive game against Yarra Junction today at Powelltown. The old 8 point game. I would imagine a cold, muddy day up at Powelly today. Not a day for skills but who wants the contest more. Will be a big result either way.

No real surprises today besides maybe the biggest upset in years
What happened at warby?
olinda couldnt have been more favorites going into the game
Alarm bells ringing

Although emerald(relegated) beat woori (eventual premiers) round 12 2014 out in the mud heap on mountain rd

Danny Ryan played for Woori on Saturday (went pretty well actually), have they heaps of injuries? to pick a 39 year old must be nothing in the two's.

A 90 point thrashing to junction. Mmmmmmm? Bottom 2 Adam? Maybe a re think in order. Yes? No? Powelly kicked 27/14 in reasonable conditions considering the amount of rain during the week.Junction didn't know what hit them. Couldn't get going at all. Don't know what got into Powelly. They actually played like a team.

Welcome to the forum, Iva Bigan. It must be great to have such a large organ. Adam is gone now, but he was not very confident about Powelltown's prospects this season. The Towners have hit a bit of form recently, but they have a tough run over the next six weeks and will probably have to win four of those six to make the finals. Let's hope they can give it a crack.

PT towelled up today by a side that out worked them all over the ground after half time. If not for Matt McCarthur it woulda been worse. Darby James was classy with 4 goals playing mostly on-ball, Michael Coombs was awesome after half time for the Rebels, poor Peter Miller (15) from PT might find himself answering an off the ball incident that at AFL level would cop 8 weeks, and he has a pretty bad facial injury to go along with it...
Dunno if PT can play finals after today, they were good in the first half, very ordinary in the second. Alex deserved the win, PT deserved to lose by more....

Spot on Schnail, it was as though the two teams swapped jumpers at half time. Again some terrible kicking at goal cost them what should have been a 5 or 6 goal lead at half time and it's been the same story all season with poor kicking in front of the sticks costing them at least 3 wins. The centre bounce set up has no plan with ruckman just hitting it anywhere and they got hammered in the centre clearances. The other strange strategy is kicking it to disadvantage. Seems as though PT reckon it's best to put the player down field under the pump. Backline is usually their strength but the back 6 did not have a great day and the Rebels lanky left footer had a day out early. Missed the PHIL Carman incident but reckon I saw the square up and the result (nasty) Had a look at the best players listed for PT and reckon they must have been watching the net ball.

So much riding on next weeks game
Healsville v monbulk
Monny already 2 games out of the 5 need a decent scalp otherwise long way back seeming upwey should get up against belgrave

If healsville lose you would say they will have to beat olinda and wandin to grab top spot by years end

Olinda v wandin 1v2 in both seniors reserves an all netball grades
Leo would have the yv van set up already for match of the day

Wandin are back to nearly there best with 4 10 goal+ wins over past 5 games
Olinda lost all flare just going through the motions and playing with lack if confidence especially up forward
IMO if olinda have a lot of problems to fix over the week off .
Premiership arnt won in March if wandin blows them out of the water
Heads will roll

Be a bit harder for Olinda to win at Wandin, but I still expect Olinda to win, they showed up Wandin's defence last time and they will do it again, yes Wandin might have won 4 out of 5 but just go back 2 rounds when they only just beat Woori, when again there defence didn't stack up. We'll have to wait two weeks because of the bye though. Monbulk are no chance to make the 5, seasons over for them I'm afraid.

Agree that Monbulk will stuggle to make the 5 if not able to knock off a couple above us on the ladder in the 2nd half of the year. We've been close but not good enough on several occasions. Bite me may need to look a little harder at Olinda's form versus Wandins. Both played Warby at Warby 3 weeks apart with one kicking 9 goals and loosing by 1 goal and the other kicking 21 and winning by 16 goals. Healesville also looking good towards the 2nd half of the year and will be hard for anyone to beat. See these 3 sides fighting it out over the next few weeks.

As in players being dropped, or something more sinister? Going by the match report on the Leagues website Olinda tore Monbulk apart so should account for Wandin (in the ressies). Wandin will be keen to win, as if they do, they've beaten everyone in Div.1. Wandin to win, and win well. Lilydale very confident that Marcus Hottes will return next year.

Heard the same, will get his flag at Olinda this year, family ties too strong Marcus to end up back at Lilydale. Win Win...

Spot on Vander on all counts. Chalk and cheese first half to second. There best player list is always questionable. There out and out best player has never been listed. The more kicking you do without looking the better up at powelly.
