Season 2022

Woofwoof1 all clubs were fully aware that percentage wasn’t the decider, it would be matches played between the 2 teams if they were equal on points.
Yarra Junction reserves won 2, Powelltown 1 in the 3 games they played against each other so YJ certainly earnt their spot on the reserves finals.
Powelltown reserves lost first 7-8 games so only have themselves to blame on not being a part of reserves finals.
There you go I wasn't fully aware of that so thanks for clearing it up as I was confused when by law 7.1.7 states it's side with highest percentage updated may 2022 therefore over riding the march 2022 by laws I would of thought

But anyway as you said Thunder1 if you start a season like that it makes it very hard to come back from

I think looking at the results the loss to Broadford has cost them.

Yeah I was just curious after an ex team mate of mine from wandin who played mostly seniors for poweltown this season was left out of the weekends 22 I thought he could have a great game in the reserves and throw his hat back in the ring for the upcoming weeks but realised there ressies had not made it

After looking at the ladder and seeing yarra junction on 33 points powely on 32 it confused me haha

Thanks all for clearing it up

Woofwoof1 looking at Powelltown’s points they were playing at a maximum 46/46

Lots of recruits brought in to win a flag, be interesting to see if they stick around if Div 1 and Div 2 are combined in 2023 as mentioned by previous posters.

It’s been mentioned they are “Dad’s army” so if they win they flag and then all retire, where does that leave Powelltown?

Difficult as they have no juniors which is essential. Whats the average age of the entire club list roughly??

Powelltown somehow has always had this great ability to attract players (recruits) if I was a betting man I would back that they would already be in the know and have a plan in place

Looking back over the years back to 2014 they have missed finals twice so have been up for sometime now, maybe a stint down the bottom and time to build and go again is on the cards

Who knows but will be interested to see what happens, but like I said I will back them in as history doesn't lie

Thunder1 what do you predict will happen ? You seem like your all over that division

I have only really shown more interest in it this season with past team mates playing

They are playing out of Kilsyth next season also. Not so good for the 2-3 local senior players but should help replace any retirements.

Woofwoof1 honestly not sure, I just have a mate who played at Broadford so followed the league from afar.

I generally watch NFNL games each week and have an interest in how Kinglake will go in NFNL next season

As mentioned Powelltown always seem to have decent sides for what I believe is a very small town (never been there)

In every finals series across the country there are hard-luck stories. The first name that springs to my mind is Derek Kickett, who despite playing every game for the "Baby Bombers" up until the 1993 AFL Grand Final, was dropped for Dean Wallis. I noticed that Powelltown’s vice-president and handy wingman, Steven “Apples” Sanders, wasn’t selected in its side for last Sunday's clash against Kinglake. The heart and soul of the footy club, Apples didn't miss a single home-and-away game in the seniors this season, and I believe his omission would've certainly surprised a few people. I was of the opinion that a big ground like Healesville would suit Sanders, but I’m sure there was some method to the madness behind the decision at the selection table. It will be intriguing to see whether he comes back into Powelly’s side for the big dance. If any current player on the Demons' list deserves a premiership dangler, it’s their ultimate clubman - Apples.

Yeah sorry Valley Maestro I have absolutely no idea who this person is as I said I have only recently taken any notice of the division as past team mates are playing for powelltown

Good luck to all anyway, best time of year

Valley Maestro damn that’s harsh
Just looked him up on Play HQ
236 games, played round 1 this year in reserves and then 15 straight senior games.

Powelltown played at 46/46 points so no room to move there

Always going to happen. Danger signs when your running with a 3/19 split of local v import. Short term joy for long term pain.

What’s the latest information regarding the Lakers application to join another league?

What’s the latest information regarding the Lakers application to join another league?
Rusted nuts did hear at NFNL division 3 finals on Sunday that application had been accepted to join NFNL

No idea though if AFLOE is going to clear them or not

Anyone heard anything and how many other clubs want to leave AFLOE, seems to be a bit of a basket case at the moment

Being unaffiliated, does the OE have any say in the transfer? I didn't think so.

Just like with the Picola league earlier this year when they were told by AFLV that because they were not affiliated, any player clearance requests from players leaving PDFNL clubs and going to other leagues would be granted automatically and any inward clearance requests from other leagues with a PDFNL club as a destination would be denied.

If there is a dispute, AFLV will no doubt side with Kinglake, especially if they say they want to come under the AFLV umbrella for insurance, etc.

You used to have to give 12 months notice. Tell the league in 2022 that you want to move in 2024 and 2023 would be your last season. With the break away from AFLVic that may have become a bit fuzzy now...

I think we need to have a meeting and all clubs declare their hand. If you want to go then go. If your staying it's 5 years in contract. Then put everything on the table finances playing list netball and junior pathway. Show the league what your future looks like for your club.

Then sort the divisions out and work from there.

Fisted8 you might not have too many clubs left by the sound of it
