This week the Swamprats, who are coming off a close loss against the dragons, will be hosting the roys. They sit just outside the top 8 by .91 percent so a win this week should see them leapfrog back into the top 8.
After a relatively succesful campaign last season, the Roys are showing no signs of slowing down. Starting the season with a healthy 3-2 record. Their low percentage would be slightly concerning, but as long as they keep winning, it shouldnt be a concern. They got beaten comfortably by the Las Vegas Bears last week and another loss could see them slip out of the top 8

Announcement
At the conclusion of this game, opposing captains Millky95 and fitzroybowiedog will each select a player from the opposing team who best emodied the principles of fun, friendship and fair play during the week. They will both be awarded Fatty Lumpkin medals.

A pioneer of the SFA, Fatty played 182 games over 12 seasons with the Roys and was a member of the S4 premiership team. Fatty captained the Roys, led it's goalkicking and was an all round champion Roy. He swapped the Maroon and Gorilla for the Swampies where he also won All-SFA selection in S9. Fatty was a staple player for the Roys, prolific, humourous and easy to befriend. He swapped back to the Roys, and eventually retired in Season 16.

Players to watch
When it comes to the Swamprats there is no need to look any further than reigning Mobbs Medalist Ant Bear. But if you do, then you'll see bit part players like Millky95 and Golumless have also been getting their fair share of the pill. Reigning ALF medal winner Gray Day is also looking to go back to back and is averaging 4.4 goals a game.

The Roys lost a couple of big names last season in Willo_ and Loonerty but this hasnt affected them on field. Fred will again contend for the ALF alongside gray day, whilst Mooch and Klim have flourished in the midfield.

Crumpets tip
Both sides have had their issues this year, but both will still end up figuring in the final 8 at the end of the season. This looks to be a battle of the Key Forwards in my opinion. Im expecting Gray day and Fred each kick a huge bag and the losing side to still score 100 points.

Now Roys ... some housekeeping tips to make your week more enjoyable ...

# beer is readily available... stronger stuff if we can steal Millky95's liquor cabinet key.

# don't worry about the smell, you'll get used to it.

# yes, that is water ... the roof leaks.

# yes, there are a few goats left (but they're for our use)

# we will win ... accept that and you'll feel better.

# there's also an alpaca who likes to dress up as a rat, please don't mistake her for a goat

Oh oh ... she isn't well ...I already made that mistake

Well after my rubbish efforts the past 2 weeks, I am ready for payback.

Hopefully I won't be as punch drunk as I seemingly was on Sunday after Dandenong's epic win over Perth although given Dandenong play Game 1 of the Grand Final on Saturday night; hopefully I'll be right to go.

As for the Roys, this is a huge occasion and I'm looking forward to another fun week where I don't have the desire to disown the opposition.

Fellow Roys and Swamprats.
This wee, we play today in honour of the late, great Fatty Lumpkin. Most old players in the league will know the name, although he may be a mystery and an enigma to many of the newer arrivals.

The Captains of the Roys and the Swamprats remember Fatty as a true gentleman of the game, who embraced and sculptured the essence of the SFA. We ask all who play today to participate in the spirit of fun, friendship and fair play that is Fatty Lumpkin's legacy.

At the conclusion of the match, both Captains will name a player from the opposing team who embodied these qualities, and these two players will be joint winners of the Fatty Lumpkin Medal

Vale FattyLumpkin. Very friendly bloke both on and off the fantasy footy field. A champion Roy from the golden era, and a major building block of the Roys history. And A Swampie who burned bright in his short time for the Rats.
fitzroybowiedog and I penned these words for the inaugural game last season. Let's play this week in the right spirit.

Then smash the bejeesus out of the Roys on Sunday.

Congrats Gray Day on his 100th game for the Swamprats this week. Name is on the cell!

Mooch and I were lucky enough to be inaugural recipients last season.

I'm watching 'Legend of Tarzan' movie .... a few Roy Gorillas have starring roles.

Roys hey? Well i do like to downhill ski against people 50 years my age.

Once we're done, i'll belt you all at lawn bowls.

I'm picking up that there's a few silverbacks in the Roys?

The running joke is that you have to be in retirement to play for the Roys. The sad thing is that they all bought into that and now they're one of the least active lists going around.

Look at MannumPower, once the proud leader of spam, now all he does is play bridge and eat dinner at 4.30.

Found this photo taken from another league.
As you can see myself & NarrowMind are the standout competitors,
unlike Barrels who struggled to get a game, CALL ME SNAKE who showed promise but never delivered & Fred whom I've heard a rumour that he is hamstrung from an injury & may struggle to get up for this game (hopefully he is on the mend & not too far away from full fitness)

Now that NarrowMind & myself play for the Sin City Swamprats,
with the other three playing for the lower grade Roys FFC, I can't see things changing.
Expect us to keep on dominating.
