    Season 32 record - 11 wins, 5 losses (1st)​

    Dragons FFC have been excellent in season 32, winning 11 games on their way to the club's fifth minor premiership. Their season began strong as they won their first four games to take top spot on the ladder at the quarter mark. They hit their worst form of the season over the next three rounds, dropping games to the Royals, Bears and Demons and sliding to fourth. From there it was full steam ahead as the Dragons won seven of their next eight games, including five in a row between rounds 11 and 15, before dropping their final regular season game to Gumbies FFC.

    The last time the Dragons played in a Grand Final they kicked the third-highest Grand Final score, against the Demons in season 28. A win on Sunday will see the Dragons draw level with the Demons and Swamprats on three premierships while elevating serial_thrilla alongside The Filth Wizard and AceAndy as premiership captains. Ljp86 will line up in his fifth Grand Final - the only Dragon to have played in each of the club's Grand Finals.

    I caught up with serial_thrilla to discuss the week ahead.

    Barrybran: The Dragons have had a fantastic season so far, winning 13 games and never falling outside the top four. Take me through some of the highs and lows of season 32 so far.

    serial_thrilla: After how awful Season 31 was for us, the constant stream of wins this season felt a little unusual at first - particularly when we won the first four games on the trot and were vying for top spot with the Demons. However, we had a bit of a losing streak for the next three games and were all of a sudden back with the pack; thankfully things righted themselves as we won seven of the next eight games to lock down the minor premiership. We even had room to gift your Gumbies a finals spot in the final round!

    Individually not too many of our players stood out throughout the season - we had the worst weather conditions of all teams, and our player stats were for the most part the lowest in the league. Even so, it was great to see Strigoi ranked as #1 ruck across several measurements; it would be a blight on the All-SFA selection committee if she were robbed of a spot in the team. We also saw some great performances from Bonz (third in the Fred), Bradesmaen (Big Spoon winner), whilst A Swallow should be a good chance to collect a haul of votes in the Mobbs this week.

    Barrybran: The Dragons still have nine players on the list from their season 28 premiership. What is the feeling like inside the camp at the moment?

    serial_thrilla: We've also got a couple of players from the Season 25 Roys premiership too, so there's a bit of big game experience among us. Everyone is up and about, and are all looking forward to the pomp and excitement a Grand Final week will bring. Dragons-Furies match threads are usually a little warped, so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out on the big stage. Bonz seems particularly excited at the prospect.

    Barrybran: This will be your first Grand Final. How are you feeling? What would it mean for you to hold up the premiership cup as a winning captain?

    serial_thrilla: I'm feeling incredibly proud of the team right now. I know that the league as a whole gets a little hung up on individual awards, but for me personally it would be the pinnacle of success in Sweet to lead my team to the ultimate victory and have us all wear those shiny little SFA Premier badges for all of next season. We've formed a tight little unit at the Dragons over the last 3-4 seasons, and i couldn't think of any better reward than to share in an experience like this.

    Barrybran: How do you rate chances next Sunday? What is going to be the key to victory for the Dragons?

    serial_thrilla: I'm feeling as confident as one can get with a randomised qooty simulation. It's a true flip of the coin, but even so it just feels like our season. Strigoi has been elite in the ruck, Bonz has been kicking bags up forward, Pie 4 Life is as lively as he has ever been, and Ljp86 is a big game player. As long as Coach AceAndy doesn't do anything stupid we are on the path to glory.
