LA Olympics in 2028 has six new (some returning) sports.
Baseball (men), Softball (women), T20 Cricket (not kidding), Flag Football, Lacrosse, and Squash.

Coney Island's favoured sports of Tree Climbing and IPA Chugging were considered but ultimately left out. Bastards.

Of course they do. Aside from T20, they will likely gold in all those.

I like how you go "not kidding" for T20 Cricket but don't give us an explanation about "Flag Football".

Also, Brisbane 2032 might bring in Rugby 9s (since Rugby 7s is Union and Rugby 9s is League), Netball, Trail Running, Ultimate Frisbee and/or Frisbee Golf, and Surf Life Saving.

Can't explain what I don't understand. :moustache:

Surprised at T20 getting in, but I suppose more and more countries are playing it now, and it's represented on most continents. I'm looking forward to the big clash between China and Lithuania. :p

Netball makes the most sense for Brisbane, and Trail Running looks a good fit. Surf Live Saving would be a great optional game. Not sure about those Ultimate sports.

I think some form of Cross Fit gets in eventually. The Cross Fit games are getting pretty big.

May as well bring in AFL for Brisbane as a one and done.

I'm amazed you watched them all to the end.

I wonder what it's like being a pornstar, getting out of gonzo and into an actual film, doing your best, most athletic work (and not even completely flubbing the acting part), and then when the film comes put you see your scene is the last one. HARDLY ANYONE IS EVEN GOING TO SEE IT!!!!

I watch them all to the end because I have a massive sex drive. It's up to nearly 8TB now.

If we don't medal at T20, we might as well just sink the country and go our separate ways.

Or we could sink NZ instead, that'll do it.

Or we could just sink NZ anyway, for the lulz. Most of them are already here anyway, why not make it official?

As long as England don't medal, I'm good.

It's weird, I'm a fan of England. Love their sports, their humour, their people etc.
Just can't stand anything about their cricket teams.

Netball might not get in since sports have to now have significant quality in both male and female competitions. This was put in to drive up female participation but might bite the IOC in the bum if they can't add Men's Netball onto the program.

Aussie Rules Football was made a demonstration sport for the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. Richmond beat Carlton at the Gabba 2 weeks after the 1982 VFL Grand Final.

England can't play. Since it's the Olympics, they'd have to participate under Great Britain meaning England would have to include a Scot, a Welsh and a Northern Irishman.
Exhibition sport is the best they'd do. But do it they should.
The Olympics got rid of Exhibition and Demonstration sports after 1996. That's why Breaking is making a one-off cameo this year, Flag Football is a one-off cameo in LA and why we might have Frisbee in Brisbane. This new flexibility is what's replaced the exhibition sport.

Flag Football is like Touch Rugby but instead it's Gridiron/American Football. Tonga Bob give me that Simpsons nerd picture you post all the time.

Agree entirely.

Yet in their cricket team, as much as it sucks a lot of the individual players are fantastic. I caught Ian Botham's speaking tour at the Corner Hotel last year, and it was great; but he's so popular here he's basically half Aussie anyway (ftr, my best mate's old man was at that pub when the incident with Chapelli occurred, and said it went exactly as Botham describes it). Flintoff is also quite well liked here, and judging by some of the comments from those who've met him (check the rudest/nicest player thread on the MB, occasionally deviates from footy players), Stuart Broad is supposed to be good value; if he does a couple more BBL stints he'll get quite liked here, too. I also enjoy reading Atherton's columns, he has a great insight into the game.

Yeah unfortunately there's no real male equivalent like women's softball is to men's baseball.
I know some blokes that played mixed netball, but has there ever been a serious men's netball league?

Then Cameo the sh!t out of AFL. There are leagues in many countries so we could surely form two groups. Many countries would have Raygun skills compared to us, but we've seen that's fine for the Olympic Games.

Ah yes the GB thing. It's true but doesn't make a difference to me. As long as any English players don't medal I'll be good!

Also, you think the West Indies are easybeats compared to what they once were, the Olympics means we get Barbados, Guyana, Antigua-Barbuda, Jamaica, Trinidad-Tobago included as well.

I remember playing netball in high school. The girls played netball like netball. The boys played it like footy. It's a pretty decent sport to play.

As a former softballer myself it's a shame men's softball isn't more popular. It's a much faster game than both women's softball and men's baseball.

They'll barely qualify like that. You might see a couple of them at best.

I did in grade 9 out of pure boredom and the fact we didn't have enough boys to field a footy team.

With a basketball ground I dominated. It was frowned upon by pretty much everyone, but it was never in the rules I couldn't.

It is a fun sport. Played mixed netball when I was an adult, dominated that as well.

I now plan to fight in the 2028 Olympics for Algeria.

Here, I will get dominated.

Looking forward to you tagging me 13 times throughout the game.

Wow. Few laughs reacts.

I'm dead serious.

I'm kicking 3 goals and 10 behinds today.

Hello Wazzas, we've made it to another game day. MWPP is doing the needful this afternoon, kicking things off at 3:45 or 5:45 or something:45. Having spent many years in organisations that like to go through regular rounds of redundancies, the meetings that usually are the bearers of bad tidings are not the ones scheduled on the hour or the half hour, but at random times like twenty past this or quarter to that. And, given that we are commemorating another milestone in the form of Mofra playing his 100th game, I expect nothing less than a damn good thrashing.

However we are playing for the Jack Karlson Memorial Trophy today, so to honour the occasion our benevolent kit sponsor Daimler AG has agreed to forego their Mercedes logo with one befitting the occasion.

Enjoy the afternoon lads, and do it for Morfa. What it may entail is up to you. And the sim. Mainly the sim, but whatever it is I at least hope you have a smile on your face when it happens.
