This was back in U-16s. I was batting 3 and came in after the first ball of the match at 1-0. Didn't see the first delivery as it went past off stump. Didn't see the second either as it took off stump out of the ground.

Our top screr made 4 from number 9, tied with 4 leg byes. The bastards we were playing against waited to be 3-350 before declaring.

We finished 9-92 in the second innings, denying them the outright . (dogs105 44*).

They were 50 over per week, Saturday-Saturday 2 day games, and we went winless for the season, losing 4 out of 10 outright.

Never played in a footy GF. My mob made a PF in my last year which we lost. Didn’t play as I had a cheekbone fracture another busted nose (2nd of season). Probably would have only been an emergency - had little talent, slow legs but a fast mouth and a totally unrelated tendency to facial injury.

But won my only cricket GF… was great as we came back from well behind to record an improbable win.

My favourite cricket GF memory was my Dad's team when I was a little dogs, when the other team were 1-90 and chasing 113. My Science teacher took a blinder in the gully to trigger a collapse, and Dad's team won by 4 runs.
