They are very expensive where I now live. I looked into growing them but discovered they are only good for one season in this climate, not perennial producers as they are in California.

I vaguely remember seeing a doco once where they explained the high price (and prized status) of artichokes as being lots of land for relatively low yield.

Now this is amazingly dull for those outside the artichoke club, but we know best
