agreed, sometimes it's best to let the dust settle elsewhere and be a rolling stone gathering no moss.
I tuned out last night 20mins into the acceptance speech and have avoided the top of the NYT and gone straight to the puzzles, which is habit writ large.
Had 3 x 1am-ish missed calls from the farm in France, when I woke up this morning.
(Scene of the Brexit vote referred to yesterday.)
It was a 'can you believe it-the world is gone mad' when I rang back this morning.
Plus ça change.
You know the drill, small doses of the poison until you build up immunity.
This came to mind yesterday as a possible theme;

One of my high school teachers and his wife are stuck in Kyiv trying to get home for two years. I can't imagine how they (or any other Ukrainian) feels at the moment. One of my coffee haunts near the Markets is run by a lovely couple who are around my age. They have a lot of family in eastern Lebanon who don't have power for most of the night and suffer random bombings because the IDF suspect that there "might be" insurgents there. I can't imagine how they feel either. There's a bit too much misery going on and I'm not in the best shape to cope with it. It'll probably be returning to the music and books that I love and the occasional football DVD. All the best, mate.
