Cork along with Tipperary are the only counties to do the senior hurling/gaelic footy all Ireland double though.Tipp did it in 1895 and 1900 and Cork did it in 1890 and 1990.

A county winning both titles in the one year is rare enough, with Cork being the only county to do it in the last one hundred or so years. Cork's Teddy McCarthy being the only man to win all Ireland medals in the same year in hurling and gaelic footy in 1990.

In those days the championships were instant knockout one defeat and you were out! Nowadays we have the backdoor format with all these extra games.

All this has made the dual player who plays both the hurling and gaelic footy an extinct species sadly.

Million dollar idea: An International Rules series, only the Irish carry hurling sticks (was gonna say hurling hurleys but I'd sound like the Swedish Chef) & the Australians carry cricket bats.

I've always wondered did any Dockers fans support the West Coast Eagles pre the Dockers entry into the league?

There was someone on Reddit who said they supported the Eagles, before jumping ship to Fremantle when they came into the AFL.

Not me. My first footy love is South Freo in the WAFL. Never supported a team in the VFL until Freo were admitted, I instead followed players who left Souths to play for a VFL club which I still do to this day on top of the purple stuff.
