I get way to emotional about this stuff, I’m shattered. To think those maggots will be patting each other on the back and believing they did a good job is just off. Throwdog supporters know deep down it was handed to them. There is no accountability for the useless rats either. Imagine being that bad at your job and not being questioned.

Coleman had a really shaky start to the game and still played really well in as high a pressure game as you'll get.

Long way from the NEAFL that's for sure. We might have found something special.

With all the key structural injuries we've had this season I'm really proud of the boys for showing up tonight. Was really a fantastic game of footy. One I'll never watch again though.

Imagine if Charlie got that last goal :(

They have a habit of getting the big calls at the right times. It happens far too regularly.
That said I think we’ve got more upside.
The list isn’t ageing and our key position stocks are good. A little more support in the ruck would be nice and perhaps finding another high quality mid.
Another year into Bailey, Starce, Daniher (we forget how much he missed) and even some continuity for Berry, Rayner and Answerth and things aren’t looking too bad.
I don’t pay too much attention to finals records. it’ll be a talking point in the media, but I don’t really think it’s an actual thing. The pieces of the puzzle are there - we just need some improvement and a little tinkering with our game. Have done plenty right.

Just saw an article on News.com.au "Fans slam contentious calls in AFL final" and they mainly talk about the Caleb Daniel deliberate out of bounds and show a heap of tweets saying how ridiculous that call was, then the rest of the article was about "how big a call" it was to call Bont's goal touched. Fuuuuuuuuck, I can't do this.

My only concern with Coleman making it is there seems to be a delay between him deciding to do something and then actually doing it. If he can tighten up that aspect of his game...

Made me angry too .

Let me start by saying i genuinely feel sorry for you guys, was looking forward to a cracking Prelim against you and wouldnt have been upset had you beat us, having said that, dont fool yourself into believing they are incompetent as what they do is perfectly choreographed to achieve a desired result, they just know they're beyond reproach so they dont bother hiding it and probably get off on the blatant troll.

I reckon that'll be bridged with experience.

Coleman was unbelievable tonight. Good to see Fullaton have a decent game aswell, give him confidence that he belongs at this level
He was unreal this finals series! You guys have found one there. Hopefully his brother comes on as well.

I know it's only natural after a finals loss, but haven't understood some of the doomsday posts in this thread. Your injuries this year were always going to make it exceptionally difficult. IMHO the 2020 Prelim is the only final you guys 'blew', but that's happened to virtually every team that's won a flag this century. You guys will be back better than ever next year if you get some better luck with injuries. Birchall and Robbo are the only two players I see potentially regressing next year, and there's a reasonable case to be mounted that the former of those two shouldn't have been in the team towards the end of this year (IMO anyway).

Onwards and upwards, hope we meet you in the GF next year, and just quietly, as a diehard Swan, I wouldn't be too disappointed if you beat us. 👍

VFL. Umps, VFL media, VFL rules, VFL commentators.
The ONLY thing that is national about this game....is the VFL takes money from every state.

Gutted, angry and upset. Another chance blown.
Why people in the crowd started singing our team song after the game is beyond me.
We as a club need to call out poor umpiring as it just keeps happening. Need a break from footy for a while.

Listening to the boos straight after the siren went. You could tell the crowd were absolutely filthy and felt they were robbed. Had every right to ask for a refund after that umpiring performance.

I assume the singing of the club song was them saying they won the game and the umps rigged the result.

I don't think anyone can complain about the energy and effort the lads brought tonight.

Sure, some clangers and bad decisions but you get that in a pressure final.

Still gutted by the way it panned out with so many dodgy calls and non calls going against us.

There was some ebb and flow with momentum in the game but I honestly thought we were the better side for the vast majority of the game.

Some are saying umpiring didn't affect the result but I say bollocks to that.

I'm sure they don't "cheat" per se but more have subconscious bias toward certain game styles. It seems beyond doubt they love the Dogs flashy handball run and gun style and tend to turn a blind eye to the blatant throws AND the throwing away/dropping the ball that they have mastered. They just do it so consistently, it's like the umps almost get mesmerised by it.

That run of frees the Dogs got toward the end of the second quarter was gobsmacking

But what can you do? I blew off more steam at the yellow twerps tonight than I can ever remember but we still lost.

We have twice now been done in a Home semi by "unfortunate" umpiring calls or errors

I still have flashbacks about the Rugby pass that Mummy threw to (Daniells?) that all three umpires somehow failed to see but that ultimately resulted in a Giants win.

We just have to "man up" and go again next year, with hopefully something resembling a real forward line rather than the band-aids on band-aids that we've had to put out there in two big finals,

We'll be right if we stick fat.

Go LIONS!!

It's been couple of hours, what's there to say? Absolutely robbed, even more blatant than the GWS throw a couple years ago.

Wait, Big O's missed handball that went out is the winner.
That was seriously dogshit. They need to look at the call. I like what it represents, but they need to pull back on it a bit. Would make all the obvious ones that aren't called far more reasonable.
