Opinion Senior coach options

Few possible assistant coaches still around, few that could be assistants for first time that we could appoint. Mark Harvey, Scott West, Jason Blake, John Worsfold (Doubt it), David Hille (Ruck coach) are some.. Heap more around i'd say as well.

I think St Kilda are trying to wrong foot the journo's writing "Why this appointment is crap" articles, by saying we're getting one coach one day and one coach the other.

However I bet Caro has two articles ready to go
"Richardson is unproven, should have got Choco"

SW appointment was not about Richo or even Hinkley. SW did not get the job because everyone else was rubbish. He got the job because he seemed (key word here) to be the outstanding candidate at the time - couple of WAFL flags, defensive coach of a powerful Collingwood team, MM tick of approval and blitzed the presentation.

Of course in hindsight we made the wrong decision. However, i am sure the coaching selection panel are aware of the short comings of last time and will make sure it won't happen again. Just like I am sure Richardson has grown and learned more about himself and the AFL in the last 2 years to become even better equipped to be a senior coach.

If anything the MM tick of approval these days means "Stay the **** away. He's a dud.". Unfortunately there was no way telling back then.

People improve. Do you think that Australian golfer Adam Scott may have improved over the past two years? Or John Longmire from when he was first appointed as coach? Or Lyon from when he was an assistant?

Because we passed over him and Hinkley two years ago quite possibly says more of the Saints interviewing and decision making than either of the rejected coaches.

He wouldn't intentionally destabilise the club, putting his own position in potential jeopardy. Would Pelchen have had any say in our senior coach in 2011?

The selection process is a sham and Choco will be appointed.

Alan Richardson doesn't want the job.

Alan Richardson has been appointed coach without an interview.

The only rumour I haven't heard is that the Saints are undertaking a process of interviewing a bunch of contenders and will appoint the person who is rated the highest at the end of that process.
