Be interesting to see who fronts they have been very quiet, big rumor is Ben Artz to jump camps & join the saints, apparently has a connection with a few boys at the gym and from the dragons

Artz would fit in well down there?
\Just went past Highett training and at 6:30 they had 7 on the track and they all looked like they were under 18's.Can someone from Highett tell everyone what is going on down their?
Would have thought with a high profile coach and great facilities that they would be a team to improve this year.I know numbers a week before XMAS shouldn't be taken to seriously but, normally there's your 6-10 regulars that always front for training.
What are average numbers at the other Div.1. clubs pre christmas?
Chelt have had well over 50 on the track each night. Of that 15 to 20 have been U18s.Just went past Highett training and at 6:30 they had 7 on the track and they all looked like they were under 18's.Can someone from Highett tell everyone what is going on down their?

They've lost about 8 to 10 players from last season out of their first 21.
Highett was never one for huge numbers on the track, even during the season I think one night last pre-season we had 7 blokes on the track.
Cricket the pre-Xmas get in the way down there.
On the other hand, my new club the Fitzroy reds had 35 on the track last week.
your point?Lost your password Im The Gun?
Anyone see Channel 10 news?? They did a story about Jack Barker and Bayside Council's refusal to change the ground name (Weatherall Rd Reserve) to the Jack Barker Oval.

Highetts lost more like 15 players from its first 21 from last year which kills me inside, but the writing was on the wall last year.Anyone got an update on the Highett situation?
I am hearing rumours of not having enough players to field 2 sides, struggling to fill one at this stage.
Lost all Senior coaching staff from 07, Reserves coach walked out a few weeks ago. Have lost upwards of 10 players from 2007 Senior team.
Will the doggies be around in 2008 and if so, how competitive will they be?
that last statement could be the stupidest thing i have heard in a long time
but hey good luck to clayton, lets hope Benny decides to play SFL instead of.... I dunno.... WAFL, SANFL, VFL or at the very least EDFL, MPNFL AMMOS Div 1???
But maybe Clayton have Hundreds and thousands of dollars to offer.....
I heard the same rumour with him taking most of the gate receipts and a slice of the bar. If he wants to plays AFL in 2009, I'm not sure that Clayton or the SFL for that matter would be a standard he'd be looking for. Plus he must have a bit of cash in the bank by now, or maybe not. Either way its a talking point.
Keep the updates for each club coming in.
Unfortnately the rumours with Highett are correct, limited numbers on the track and massive outs for season 2008.
Jason Meade, Troy Harris, Luke Harris, Matt Smith, Mathew Sheahan, Paul Murphy, John Bolding, Phil Smith, Kris Abaloz, Toby Loft, Dean Langford, with the futures of Matty Andrews, Singh brothers unsure.
I hope they are able to cover these losses! Hopefully Stephen Wright has the contacts to recruit new players.
