Appeal was turned down - whilst the EFL accepted them the VCFL and AFL Victoria have turned down the move.

A good decision by the powers that be as it certainly protects the leagues constitution and the process if you do want to change leagues.

A dispute involving a metropolitan Grammar School, a leading country co-educational college and one of its star pupils has now escalated. All parties were called before the Disputes Tribunal of the Authority for Learning (AFL), in an effort to break the deadlock which had disrupted the curriculum of all three parties.
The turbulent relationship between Yarra Valley College and one of its star students, F.C. Silvan, recently came to a head when Silvan, currently a Year 11 student at Yarra Valley College, sought a transfer to Expansion Forever Lodge (EFL) - a large, prestigious grammar school in the eastern suburbs.
Yarra Valley was outraged at what it saw as poaching, claiming that Silvan was not entitled to a transfer as he had not yet obtained his Leaving Certificate.
The College Board then refused to transfer Silvan, instead issuing him with 12 months detention in the college Boarding School, pending a demotion back to the junior campus.
The ruction has shaken the foundations of the country college and many have pondered how the situation could have deteriorated to warrant the intervention of the AFL.
In his early days at the Yarra Valley College Preparatory School, Silvan drew little attention. He was much smaller than his classmates and he tended to be overlooked. His Fourth Grade teacher recalled that he was a subdued but friendly child, whose achievements had been modest, despite occasional flashes of ability.
The world altered dramatically for Silvan when he was plucked from poverty when adopted by a local wealthy family. Lavishing all manner of privilege on Silvan, the family quickly reassessed his future prospects, dressed him in new finery and then enlisted the support of some of the country's finest tutors to help improve his grades.
Silvan's star had suddenly ascended.
His results immediately improved, leading the School Board to graduate him into the senior campus under their Accelerated Programme. Although some of Silvan's new classmates welcomed him with open arms, others resented the raw young student who they felt had not rightly earned his place.
The turmoil did little to stop the emergent Silvan. Thriving under the tutorship, he soon rose to become Dux of the school.
Silvan appeared to handle his new found success with aplomb. He repeatedly topped the grade and set about forging a reputation as a proficient and energetic pupil. His standing soon had him giving impromptu lessons to his peers; some of whom took umbrage at what they deemed to be precocious behaviour from a 'johnny-come-lately'. Others appeared to be just plain jealous!
But then, with the world seemingly at his feet, things began to unravel for young Silvan! As recorded by a local scribe, his benefactor became seriously ill with poverty and, once again, the young Silvan found himself lacking vital support.
Without his tutors, the success that once seemed so inevitable, suddenly eluded him. His grades plummeted, he quarrelled with the school Prefects and the once star student became estranged from his peers.
Faced with a drastically altered syllabus, Silvan decided that he needed to move closer to the city in order to further his education. Although he had not been granted leave, he moved into a single room on the bottom floor of the dormitory at Expansion Forever Lodge. Silvan once had a brief flirtation with women of the Yarra Valley co-educational campus, but severed all relationships because the EFL was a 'boys only' institution.
When the board of the Yarra Valley College heard of the move, they promptly appealed to the state's highest authority, the Authority for Learning, to intervene.
After a prolonged and sometimes bitter public debate, the Appeals Tribunal sent Silvan back to the Yarra Valley boarding house to serve his 12 months detention.
The decision has brought a mixed reaction from students at both schools. Most just hope the issue is finished!

About 24 hours per day, little mate (less time out for grand kids and an occasional beating from spouse). See 'occupation' for more info.
My shout next game at the G. God knows I must owe you one!
Besides, everyone has to have a hobby.....

We overlook the bay and heads, so got a great view of it moving across.
Umpired cricket on Sat at Sorrento when the sea fog rolled in and temp dropped from 30 down to 15 degrees. Happens a lot at the pointy end of the peninsula.

Re: Seperate Thread - Silvan move to EFL?

As I stated, the required notice was not given which is why the YVMDFL are appealing. It's not about Silvan leaving but rather it's about following the correct procedures-if these procedures aren't followed club's could just leave willy nilly as they see fit.
how sweet it is

Re: Seperate Thread - Silvan move to EFL?

If this true, good luck to them hopefully they have made the right decision.
