Then here's an idea- get in early.

If you want a ticket you will get one.
I'm not sure how it is for Sydney, but for Richmond finals, if you're not online at 9am, you've got no hope. You'd almost need your own separate internet lines to get tickets when they're that limited.

Geelong play 2 home games at MCG throughout the year, and all of a sudden because it's finals they need to play another one even if they earnt a home final. North has more home games at Blundstone! I remember when interstate teams were forced to play at the MCG some years - Brisbane had to do it in 04 against Geelong, and I remember west coast having to do it against Essendon at some point. That sucked massively, and it sucks now. It's not about distance, it's about having home ground advantage. Geelong doesn't have that at the MCG.

Geelong shouldn't even get their own KP home ground advantage to begin with...be happy you got so many during the H&A season.

Not surprised in the slightest, but it's disappointing, even more so when the AFL won't come out directly and say that we can/can't host a true home final in Geelong if we earn the right, even if it's a conditional promise based on the team we play. Surely the club and fans deserve to know exactly what we're playing for this weekend...?

Where should Geelong play their home games then? You aren't one of those simpletons who think Geelong is a suburb in Melbourne are you? You've made yourself look like a plonker unfortunately.

There was plenty of seats in last year's prelim- I mean I went with 5 mates who wanted to go the Friday before!

There will be enough seats.

If he made himself look like a plonker then you would not have felt such a need to state it.

Go buy a Porsche if you feel the need to compensate your legitimate worthiness.

Cute for you to defend him, but it was an embarrassing comment on his behalf.

"Geelong shouldn't play home games in Geelong", it's not a very compelling argument.

Right on.
I remeber trying to get tickets for the Carlton final. It was a feeding frenzy eh. I stuffed it up and went to the back of the queue and ended up giving up and missing out.

For the north final in 2015, just after 9am the only way I could get 4 seats in a row was in like cat 3. All of 4-7 were near exhausted. In our two home finals it's basically been lottery of internet speed like the grand final.

AFL members go on sale Wednesday 9am, think I'll be getting up nice and early for that one.

Won't be the first or last event to sell out. Get in early it's honestly not rocket surgery

Stuff Geelong. They have asked to play Hawthorn at the MCG on Easter Monday and others there as their home game. If it's good enough for the H&A season, they can have it for the finals. Sick to death of their precious bleating.

It's not rocket science either that getting in early doesn't guarantee shit. It's a little simplistic to tell people to just do it earlier when there's a billion things that could go wrong anyway:tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

This thread just proves some Geelong supporters are absolute sooks.

Because we want our team to have a final at their home ground? I would have thought every supporter would want that for their team. I don't really understand why so many people seem to have a problem with it. We always talk of consistency and equality in the afl, yet here is a case that is against both. amd it's not even about the cats, it should be a right afforded to every team.

All that sounds like is "I can't be bothered making time". If you really want tickets there are ways to get it whether it be member sales, general public, etc. Not as if 20,000 people will travel to Sydney.

Jesus Christ people. Do we have to go through this every year? Stop imagining that the AFL exists in an ideal world and plays fairly by every club. There are contractual arrangements in place with the other Stadiums in Melbourne concerning Victorian clubs. The Cattery is like the option of last resort to be used if are there too many Victorian teams vying to host finals in week one. This year 4 of the top 6 are non-Vic clubs, so there will be finals in Sydney and Adelaide, thus no need to look outside the MCG for Melbourne venues.

It is not fair. It is business. Get over it.
