The Sydney bias is ridiculous there, Geelong have a home ground and should be allowed to play there. I would have had no problem playing at Kardinia when we were good, if you're good enough you should be good to go anytime, anywhere. You can talk about sellouts, but their own fans and club want the game at Kardinia so what right does the AFL have to interfere? It is blatant favouritism.

You can make all the excuses you want for them, it is completely amateurish and never happens in other major leagues around the world.

Lighten up a little, it's all a bit of a laugh - I'm really not gonna travel to Sydney for a final anyway

Ticket master need an extra option.

Category A
Category B
Category C
Category no intention of going but I really want to have a good whinge about it anyway.

That looks like fun
Category let's not have any fun whatsoever and just accuse people of whinging.
Seriously. I don't think demand would be that great at all for a Richmond final in Sydney. If you want a ticket, purchasing on the day they are made available is sufficient and the best way to ensure there is no disappointment.

Ridiculous. If we play them only 17000 members of our 73K+ members will be able to go. Also only 17K of their members will be able to go. Insane.

It's all about money.

When the time comes and enough people give two shits about GWS then demand will go up and they'll be off to the SCG.

I'm cool enough with finals at the G. If the GF is gonna be there may as well play others there too.

Cute for you to defend him, but it was an embarrassing comment on his behalf.

"Geelong shouldn't play home games in Geelong", it's not a very compelling argument.

Fair response.

If you can guarantee 40% admission for visiting teams then I too don't have an issue with it. Like most people.

But you can't lock people out of finals, or H&A games either.

So if Sydney play Essendon at the SCG week one they are guaranteeing 40% of seats for Bomber supporters?

Same for Adelaide and Port who will likely host home finals?

That is currently a problem for Kardinia Park.

Let me know when it is a problem for the SCG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spurious winger.

The Gabba isn't there too.

Guess Brisbane won't be playing finals this year then.
I like that even though someone beat you to complaining about GWS getting home games and Geelong not you still decided to come up with a witty response to this thread. Keep your chin up, Harro. :thumbsu:

You should see my bald one in the Judd thread.

Absolute zinger.

Nice to see our record will continue for another year then. Surprised they're not considerate of the local Geelong economy this year.

How they can justify playing at Spotless and not Kardinia is baffling? It is not like there hasn't been a game played at the G on a finals weekend before. The Cats have gone to the trouble of renovating the ground. Let the Cants use it.

Perhaps they're worried that because of the non-Melbourne based teams dominating the upper part of the 8, that only 1 game could be played at the G before the GF.

Why because nearly 20000 bombers fans are going to turn up to the scg are they?

Geelong play 2 home games at MCG throughout the year, and all of a sudden because it's finals they need to play another one even if they earnt a home final. North has more home games at Blundstone! I remember when interstate teams were forced to play at the MCG some years - Brisbane had to do it in 04 against Geelong, and I remember west coast having to do it against Essendon at some point. That sucked massively, and it sucks now. It's not about distance, it's about having home ground advantage. Geelong doesn't have that at the MCG.

You get a greater advantage than most other teams throughout the H & A season so in the end it evens out. You also got to play 4 games at the MCG, so it's not like it's foreign to you, unlike SS is to every other club.

Geelong have a similar fan base to Dogs and Spotless was fine for that final.
Ah no, Geelong has 56,000 members last year when the Dogs played at Spotless they had 39,000.

Mind you I wouldn't mind playing at spotless if GWS earned that right.

Geelong only played a final at Kardinia Park because the AFL didn't have the stones to make Collingwood play at Etihad Stadium. They lost remember, and played Port the following week - at the MCG.

It's likely that Geelong will be the only Victorian club hosting a final in two weeks' time, and if they lose there probably won't be any finals in Victoria in week one. There is no chance the AFL will schedule a final at Kardinia Park while the MCG and Etihad sit idle.
