No... its not a "problem"... its just inconvenient for Geelong so you're calling it a problem... its laughable to the rest of us...
Seriously get over it
Yep, it's not a problem for 17 of the 18 teams in the competition so obviously you can't relate to being shafted by the AFL.

How would you feel winning a home final then finding out you have to play it in another city at the oppositions home ground?

Trying to get idea's off him? you will be needing one shortly too...
edit: I'll come back here and see what you picked out, looking forward to it :)
Why say edit when you didn't?

Sounds like it's time for a change

To be fair if i'd just heard hardwick say he thought his brand of football would beat geelong like the last 10 times it didn't, i'd have that reaction too.

If during the season you play a home game at the MCG, then you are getting a home final

If Geelong want to play finals at Simonds, they should play ALL their home games at Simonds in the H&A.
Even then all their home finals should be at the MCG. Same with the Ballarat Bulldogs (if they relocated and played 11 home games at Mars Stadium).

QUICK, DEFLECT, NO ONE SAW!

Your team picks and chooses when its convenient, this is nothing more than just trying to get an additional edge... No one (including a lot of melbourne based geelong fans who want to watch the game) want it at the auskick sized ground because you know... people want to actually be able to attend the sport..

Anyway its at the MCG, get over it sooks.

So what? It's in another city, so it isn't the same.

Where do you draw the line? Should Gold Coast play finals in Brisbane?
That's the only sticking point for me, I don't particularly care so long as the rules are applied consistently. If all finals in Victoria are played at the MCG, not a problem, so long as all finals in NSW are played at the SCG and all finals in Queensland are played at the Gabba. If that's the case then there is nothing to complain about.

We pick and chose when it is convenient? What?

We are FORCED by the AFL to play home games at Etihad to fulfill their contractual obligations, meanwhile clubs like yours play 14~ games a year at their home ground (compared to our 8) and get to play in Tasmania when they want.

And any Geelong fan who is willing to compromise our chances of winning so they can attend the match isn't a fan at all.

Its not hard to understand.... if you draw an interstate club with an expected low attendance from said club, you can play on your happy meal sized ground, due to not stopping any spectators from attending/enjoying the sport.

You play any other club at home and you're at the MCG.

it's been this way forever, it should stay this way, stop sooking, it changes nothing.

Yes. In my opinion Suns home finals should be at the Gabba. Giants at the SCG. One finals venue per state.
That is stupid.

And I guarantee your opinion would be different if your home ground wasn't the MCG.

Now that the AFL owns Etihad should Essendon, Bulldogs, whoever be able to request home finals at that ground?

What difference would it make who owns the ground? I guess of the AFL make more money out of games there it may become worth it for them.

Because it is all about money, as we know. **** the integrity of the game.

That's what it's all about... and any club not willing to let their fans attend and support in exchange for some nonsense "edge" isn't a club at all.

Can we play all our games at Whitten Oval instead of Etihad? Despite the fact that only 10k people can come in?
That is a completely different argument as it isn't up to AFL standards and is based within Melbourne.

Except we are letting a reasonable number of our fans support us in a home final that we earned the right to play.

You earned the right to home state final... you got a home state final..... stop sooking.

You answered your own question.

Do you reckon the AFL would've punted Freo to play at Kardinia Park and left their own asset sitting idle?

The rule should be changed to allow for the team who finished on top to actually have an advantage, and not be disadvantaged.
