I follow Chelsea and was stoked when the takeover happened because it allowed us to compete with the powerhouses in England and abroad. Winning trophies was fantastic but after a while, it started to become a bit hollow. I don’t mean to come across as ungrateful because I have loved every minute of our success in the Roman era, but I felt a bit unfulfilled after we won our last title and it made me miss the pre takeover days.Agree. I’m a Fulham supporter myself and loved our time in the Championship living over there. Good quality of football for the most part, more games than the premier league, more authentic fans (crowds not diluted with the plastics and tourists like the premier league), cheaper tickets that are never sold out, and players who genuinely play for the badge and supporters, rather than the pay cheque.
I’ve never actually properly followed a Championship season because Chelsea have been top flight my whole life. I would watch games here and there and often track the progress of our loanees, but I think I’m going to try and watch as much as I can next season. It has that early days Premier League feel to it and I think it will remain like that for the foreseeable future.
