Yeah they spent like £115 million on wages last year, and need to cut it down to about £45 mil. Going to be interesting to see how that works!
For me it is hard to see how there wages could be so high. I read Terry got 60k a week which is 3million , did they have players earning more than that.

Yeah totally get that. Our closest rivals are probably Coventry but it’s just not that much fun when you’re so far apart in the league. It is the one thing I wish we had, a proper rivalry that went both ways.

Don't worry, the Wolves will be fantastic. (Perhaps it's Vardy, but West Brom games did have a degree of fun about it.)

As for Villa. This is what happens when you don't prepare a proper base in your attempt to get back up. Super risky play that didn't work out, and now they have to pay the price.

Be interesting to see how they fare next season. Might be due for quite a stay, like Leeds.

Bielsa signed. Going to be a wild ride.

Can see Spurs and Man City loanees coming our way. Already linked with Gunn, Carter-Vickers and Foyth.

Also linked with Vydra from Derby.

Stoke apparently keen on Gayle to help their promotion push and Norwich keen on taking Woodman on loan. Would be pretty happy with that (assuming a fair price for Gayle and Woodman is first choice).

Heard anything on Armstrong from the NUFC side? I suspect Blackburn would be keen on a loan/permanent deal.

Shame he's not actually successful with club sides.

He took Athletic Bilbao to the final of the Europa League, knocking out Manchester United and playing the best football in the tournament along the way. He also galvanized Marseille and had them on the brink of UCL qualification and a Ligue 1 title when they were at their nadir a few years back. Poch and Pep both think he's a world class manager as well.

He's ****ing nuts but he's a great manager.

Been reading a bit about him and he definitely has some quirks, such as not picking his team until he's paced out the dimensions of the pitch! Pep says he's the best manager he's seen so he must do somethings right, although last time he signed a 2 year contract with someone he lasted 48 hours.
Leeds now 3rd favourite to win the championship :D

Look at his recent record. His sides burn out consistently with club football. He might get half or even the majority of a season with strong results, but he plays at such a high tempo that no team can sustain it over an extended period of time. Marseille's season was the exact example of this.

Leeds have a 46 game league season + FA Cup + League Cup. Happy to be proven wrong, but I think the Championship is a poor fit for his style of management. Best of luck to him though, the man is a visionary (and nutcase).

Not a whole lot though I doubt he'll be in Rafa's first team plans though. Most likely another loan on the cards though if rumours are to be believed, Rafa may only have 40m to play with and need to raise additional funds through player sales.

I'd be keen to loan him to Blackburn again and see if he can do the business in the Championship. Seems to play his best stuff under Mowbray and under his management, might be able to do more than he did previously (admittedly was played wider than he was probably use to).

Could be quite the changing of the forward guard if Gayle, Mitro and Armstrong are all moved on in the summer.

Exactly one month from today until the season opener (Reading v Derby County). Quite excited for this year, and beyond ecstatic Wednesday have decided to return the blue and white striped kits. We've done nothing yet in the transfer market, besides let young gun George Hirst walk to some club in Belgium. Few rumours popping up everywhere, including Rhodes out on loan, but nothing concrete. Is it normally quiet transfer-wise when there's a world cup?

The club he went to is owned by King Power (Leicester's owners).

Fryer Tuck thoughts?

Apparently they signed him in Belgium to avoid the huge costs English teams have to pay if they sign another club's youth player, and then will bring him over to England in January instead! Smart move haha

What's the general attitude on Wednesday's chances this season? They were close to promotion for a couple of years but had a downer last season. I'd love to see them come back up, would be nice to see some of the traditional big clubs back in the top tier.

Mid-table. Squad is decent, but missing one or two players first XI players to really put us into contention, and questionable depth to endure the whole season. FFP is squeezing us, so we can't do a lot in this window to fix it.
