I'm surprised noone has thrown up the idea of sewerage tunnels yet
So....I am sure we have all snuck in to rock festivals before.... The jump and run.... The covert ops.....
Has anyone snuck into a Grand Final before?
Anyone planning to this year?
Any tips?
And just hope that you're working that day?I give the same tip every year!! get a job inside selling refreshments or whatever. Then when the game starts, just dump the tray and go stand somewhere and watch the game.
I snuck into the 99 grandfinal. I had no tickets so I drank at a nearby hotel. A little into Three quarter time I walked into the MCC area. Nobody was there checking, people coming and going. So I got to see two and a half quarters in a pub and 1 and 1/2 quarters live.
Would you get arrested if you got caught?
When i was at the G earlier this year they accedently gave me 2 pass outs. Might try my luck if the cats make it.
Offer one of the footy record sellers money to get you a passout, pretty simple way get them to enter the ground and then just leave the ground thru a different gate without their gear on, thus getting a passout, you get passout they put their uniform on and back in they go.
I've heard of something similiar happening in the past, although if they ask for ticket it may not work now.
I did it in the 95 grand final. Had been away overseas all year and got back for the prelim. Watched the cats belt Richmond and thought it was going to be the best year of my life. Had spent the previous 6 months with a spanish flight attendant so I was on cloud nine.
In the days following the prelim I couldn't get a ticket anywhere - wasn't a member that year.
However I was fortunate enough to have a mate whose father knew a bloke who worked on the gate at the MCC members. He arranged for me to meet him at 9.00am sharp outside, he would go in and let me know when I was able to walk through.
After watching him walk through he approached his friend (who was about 70yo), spoke for a good 2 minutes (felt like 20!!) and then the attendant looked up at me and motioned for me to come to him.
As I got to the gate he quietly said "have a good day son" and off I went. Prime seats in the MCC members.
Then it all turned to shit........
Can't do that - you need your ticket with your pass out for finals and i'm sure they use different coloured pass outs for each game.

They will for the big dance though. Also Ledger is correct, there are about ten different coloured sets of pass outs. While at the Geelong dogs final this year not once did they ask to see my ticket when i was re entering the stadium.
I had enough trouble getting out of Richmond train station before the '02 Boxing Day Ashes test without a train ticket. I also have enough trouble getting into games with a ticket.
Down with this sort of thing
Didn't notice this but this exactly what my mate did.Being an ex records seller, Grand Final day (allegedly) used to be a gold mine for us little fellas.
Because you work in groups this was very easy. We would get 3 record boys to take their gear off for someone to rent (usually 200-300 a pop). Then 1 record boy from the group would take the non record boys (dressed appropriately) into the ground carrying an empty bag. Then all of them would go to the toilet, take their gear off and the real record boy would walk back out with with all the uniforms in a bag.
This could go on all day.
As 15 year olds you could (allegedly) make an extra 1 to 2 grand on grand final day
