So, have Fremantle totally snubbed the colour green?

I'm led to believe they have a very small, almost unnoticeable thin green band on their socks. Seriously what's the point if you can't see it?

I like the simplicity of Freo's new bold home and away jumpers, but what's with ditching green? Even their new logo is ONLY purple and white.

It's a bit of a shame really. There will be 18 clubs in the AFL as of next year and not one of them will be wearing green, which in sporting terms is a fairly unqiue colour which can really differentiate yourself from other teams with more boring "same" colours like blues and reds and blacks and yellows.

Think of Glasgow Celtic, the Boston Celtics, Green Bay Packers, Canberra Raiders etc.

The teams that wear green, are usually very well known, and distinctive, often because they wear green.

It was good to see orange used for the first time by GWS, but c'mon... what about green? Bring it back!

I'd like to see Freo's home jumper stay as it is, but their away jumper, replace the white with green.

yeh it is a bit weird. I always thought they must of been holding off using it for if tassie ever comes in. Maybe when the kangaroos relocate down there they might become blue and green.

I prefer Freo's old jumper better. It looked a lot more unique, I liked the anchor and the green. The new one is boring.

Port's away jumper is boring as well. I think Port should have kept their old home jumper and the new black one should be their away jumper.

Purple is distinctive enough for us :)

Probably less professional clubs going around that have adopted Purple - can only really think of Fiorentina and Glory

Green is probably far more widespread

I agree purple is a good choice because it's unique.

I'm not saying ditch purple.

I'm saying you can have BOTH. Think wimbledon.

What about this idea Freo fans?

Home jumper: Exactly as it is now. All purple with the three thin white "v's." No change.

Away jumper: Same design as now, but all green with three thin white "v's" green shorts green socks.

Purple and white at home; green and white away.

Still a bit much for mine, just purple and white has a more striking simplicity. But I agree any new team coming in should adopt green and white

Other teams that wear purple:

Phoenix Suns
Sacramento Kings
Kolkata Knight Riders
LA Kings
Minnesota Vikings
Baltimore Ravens
Fiorentina (in serie A)
Perth Glory
Melbourne Storm
LA Lakers
Colorado Rockies
Sydney Kings

And: forgot about the Lakers - any others though?

Baltimore Ravens & Minnesota Vikings in the NFL.

To Dan, no thanks. I'm happy we've finally embraced a simplified two colour identity. Having different colours for home and away just dilutes your identity.

What I would've liked to see is on the away jumper, have one purple band, one red band and one green band. Would maintain a clean, sharp look while having a throwback to the original colours
